I have sat in the driver's seat of your avatar.
I've sat in the seat and toured the plant! I'm a total Oscar Mayer kid. My dad just retired after 30+ years and helped make the world's longest baloney!

Okay, first I'm a woman!
Second, despite the urban legends of "spare parts" that end up in processed meat, it's trimmings, not eyeballs etc! It's Oscar Mayer, not Upton Sinclair's "the Jungle". My father is very selective (and a bit obsessive about meat) and wouldn't let his little girl eat icky stuff! I grew up in the town where Oscar Mayer was founded (great-aunt used to complain about her first home being too close so she'd hear pigs squealing, Grandpa worked there, and then Dad) and have watched as Kraft General Foods/Phillip Morriss have changed it from a highly philanthropic local business that took great care of its employees to a "corporate" entity.

SB, I totally get what you're saying. I worked for Jimmy Dean and we only used the prime parts back then. That's why I sold the other "parts" to other companies. I'm sure Oscar Mayer was the same way. I was just sayin' that ever since then, I have a slight aversion to bologna.
hmmmm......can't remember

Talking about it is next best thing................
At least if it's being discussed, it means it exists

It exists for some people, I reckon. Others of us never get to "drive the Wieniemobile."
