Wow! they make it look as easy and graceful as ballet.
last weekend lil' fff made us watch the xgames. did you see that?! omg....scared me to just watch. the dirt bikes would jump these ramps and do flips in the air.
my lil brother used to race dirt bikes and my mom never would go to the races. it scared her to death. needless to say....we spent our share of time in the emergency room and he has had several broken bones and stitches/scars to prove it. wonder what makes some people adrenaline junkies?

I think I'll try that with my electric scooter today.

hmmmm......can't remember
Can your bike do this? <<<click>>>
Of course my bike can do that. I just can't do that on my bike.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a bike (scooter) because where I work they're moving all of the parking to a lot across the main thoroughfare through town due to construction of a new building. The vertical elevation difference is 56 feet, and it's a quarter of a mile walk. My briefcase typically weighs 50 pounds due to textbooks, laptop, folders with lecture notes and homework papers, etc. So besides risking my life crossing that road, my GERD will give me problems if I have to draw my rolling briefcase up such a steep hill.
Anyone have any recommendations on a cheap scooter that is capable of going at least 50 mph? I live 1.3 miles from campus on a residential road, but people always go 50 mph or more in the 30 -40 mph zones.
Dunno what I'll do on rainy or cold days -- I guess I'll get my husband to drop me off.
Trust me -- I won't be doing maneuvers like in the video.

OOPS! Too late to edit my previous post. I guess my question should have been in a new thread. Rather than doing that, if you have any recommendations, please pm me.

BR you do not strike me as a scooter rider
if you want something that does 50mph i think you want a full out motorcycle

BR you do not strike me as a scooter riderI just wanna park right by my building like I used to. I have too much sh*t to drag it that far up a steep hill. Heck, I'd walk/run to work if I didn't have all of that stuff and wasn't worried about smelling bad and having frizzy hair.![]()

Only the very, very cool ride scooters.
Jessi, dear, there are scooters out there that will maintain 80 mph. (I don't recommend riding any two-wheeler at 80 mph, but there are scooters that will do it!)
I got more compliments on my hair after I started wearing a helmet. I'm not sure that's a good thing, but there it is...

Jdarg, do not read this....BR, you crack me up!!! What does heartburn have to do with walking uphill? Prilosec rules!!! So does Maalox!

Carrying or pulling heavy things opens up the hiatal hernia, causing reflux and a great deal of pain, burping, and general discomfort, as well as increasing the chances of esophageal cancer.
Yeah, jfunn, I know. It su*ks that it could be unwise to wear my jewelry and furs while riding a scooter. And the "hat head" I'll get from the helmet, after spending 20 minutes flat-ironing my hair.

Sorry for the hijack, SJ.

Not fur--leather. Leather keeps out wind. That's why bears only ride motorcycles inside circus tents.
Helmet head, not hat head. It actually enhances the flat-iron effect. For once, I'm not being a smarta$$. I really did have great luck with helmet head!
The only jewelry that doesn't work is big hoopy earrings. Everything else works fine!

The Honda Metropolitan is the answer, but it won't be doing 50mph. :funn:I do like the new Vespa scooter, too, but it is pricey.
