We have had 3 weeks of 100+

Can we just all agree that it is hot as HE**. Well, except for jfunn and SJ's sister. How lucky they must be that they are getting 120? degree cars everyday. I swear I could cook my meals in my van while I am at work. I heard of someone doing that one time. We have too, RO. I dread seeing out electric bill.

from an article about the weather in the Dallas Morning News yesterday...
"Right now, Texas forecasting is so easy I could do it..."Sunny and hot, followed by turkey and dressing."

I just got mine. It was higher than it has ever been since I got my new heat pump about 7 years ago.

OH, THANK YOU!!!! We are getting out of the 100's next week.Though it was some time ago, I cooked many meals on the dashboard of a van.Can we just all agree that it is hot as HE**. Good camera work there Riv-O. Show off!!!!
Poor Otters,
Here in West Tenn it looks like "out of Africa". We haven't had any rain in 4 weeks. Our pastures are brown and we are cutting for hay 600 plus acres of soybeans that aren't going to make beans.
Guess Mr. Bluemtnfriend won't be buying me a new tractor for my birthday this year. That's been his running joke for the last 3 years that I needed a new tractor.
We need a good dose of sowal!
That's just what I was afraid of.![]()

22 days in O'town with no rain. This is weird weather.

What's 2 degrees!!!! (He practices 4 days a week
) I'm melting!
Here they've been having half days at school but the Gallatin Green Wave Football Jamboree was even called off last night. I'm sure they will have it next week.
Maybe this heat is a good reason to wait 'til after labor day for schools to start back. Lots of the school's ac's are going out. Hope you make it out there today. Do you have one of those squirt bottles with a fan on it? Besides your hat and sunscreen, of course?
No fan with a squirt bottle on it, but my son is mad because I make him sit on a plastic trash bag in the car on the way home. He is smelly and soaked through!
; it was 108 when Tiger was here the week before; please remember to HYDRATE people!!!!!
Well glad yall are FINALLY catching up with us; it was 108 when Tiger was here the week before; please remember to HYDRATE people!!!!!

We have too, RO. I dread seeing out electric bill.

Though it was some time ago, I cooked many meals on the dashboard of a van.You mean, the "van down by the river"?

Thanks. SJ. LOL. I was thinkin' the same things when I was rakin'. I went out early and came in quick cuz I forgot gloves and got a blister b4 any heat stroke could happen. You're right about shading the lawn though. More leaves have fallen, and I'm leavin' 'em.
--leaves left on the grass will cause more damage to the grass because the blades can't photosynthesize; they will suffocate. (Of course, if your grass has already died from heat and dehydration, suffocation won't hurt it.) Leaves left in beds and under trees (in tree rings, for instance) will trap moisture, which is a good thing right now. Technically, the mulch will produce more heat on the roots, but the effect will be negligible.
Don't you people own air-conditioners? Really, what's the big deal, unless you are wearing a football uniform and practicing in the heat at 3:30pm?
That is because I came home from vacation. It rained every day we were there and our last day there was 22 days ago.rained today!!!!!!!!
I know it's crazy hot...but I'm not complaining, I love summer. It was a grayt day for the pool.
rained today!!!!!!!!

I guess I'll go out early and rake 'em round some more trees and in my beds, and leaf pile. Between the late freeze after every thing started blooming and now the drought. I do feel for the farmers whose hard work is burnt up by this heat. Please wait while we verify your forum account.
