Started off just perfect  ... After work both little otters had sleep overs so we headed up to the lake to enjoy "Magic Hour" <---as coined by katie blue ;-) . What a beautiful night :!: We headed north up river, shut down the boat and just drifted listening to the stero

Got a cool pic of GB

Lake was very crowded ... LOL!!

Snapped some shots of Magic Hour

So we headed into Soddy Creek on our way to Pine Harbor where Steve's Landing Restaurant is (Best ribs in town) Graytonbound got a great shot of the sun setting with the planets aligning in the background

I'm not sure "falling" is the right word......apparently he thinks he's Superman

Poor little guy caught himself with his hand, arm fully extended, and fractured his elbow & the bone above it. For a minute they were talking surgery to put pins in his elbow  , but decided he just needed a cast:cool: Gotta go to an orthopedist next week :bang:

remember when you were a kid and really really wanted to break your arm so you could wear a cast? of course, when it happens, its not nearly as fun as you thought it would be.

are ya'll coming down??

yep, i was in 4th grade, tried my best to break the darn thing, because my brother had a cast and got sooooo much attention.....

so i'm expecting the other otter to start trying by the end of the week :bang:

only thing that might save me......he thought braces would be cool til the dentist told him this week he would have them by next year.....he's not so excited anymore :(

Dunno about the next trip but Otter's pushin hard for next weekend, without kids. After giving little Otter a bath just now, I'm not so sure I would put anybody else through that.

Is the cast glow in the dark? Looks like the one my son had. He did the same thing as little otter except he was walking up a slide at preschool and it was slippery and he fell off. He got so much attention with his cast...he loved every minute of it. Everyone that saw him had a broken bone story to tell. (kinda like this LOL)
Hope he heals fast and there's no complications. My son healed up just fine.

Nope, we just tried it  it didn't glow :(

thanks for the well-wishes, we think everything will be just fine
(except my back after lifting him out of the tub  )

Probably only shaves when he wears his man bikini!

No, no ribs, not even water He's fine. I tried to get him to tell this long story about breaking his arm while attempting a triple back flip while snow boarding . I explained how the chicks would think he was soooo cool BUT he didn't want to lie So he told the truth about falling off of the couch in our neighbors house

:lolabove: You are clever! That's funny!

But sorry that you had to get your inspiration from an accident. Hope little otter heals quickly 'cause I'm sure he's anxious to get back to piano practice. :floor:

actually he asked us if he could take piano lessons, but he's mostly upset that wakeboarding is over for the season :( Sure made our day boring....no boating, swimming, bikes...I can't take it :bang:

Thanks so much for your concern :D

How long has he taken lessons? For my daughter they were really fun for about 6 months then she noticed that practicing everyday was cutting into playtime
Before 2 years she was asking to quit. Took a couple years off, then got together a "band" and wanted to take lessons again and loves it! :idontno: Just needs breaks every now and then I guess!

By the way, loved some of those photos! :D

yes I can see that happening with little otter...he started lessons in Jan, I had him take off for the summer, now he's been back for 2 d**n weeks & has to stop for a month. Ask me again in 2006, I'll bet he's sick of it :(

But he's great at it, so maybe he'll come back to it later like your daughter :clap_1:

I was going to make a boat. A wooden raft or something. I was going to nail a couple of plastic chairs to it. And maybe put a beach umbrella on it. And an outboard motor.

RO and GB, great pictures! Although I did notice that someone snuck more of the BOAT in there than the lake itself. *snicker*

Sorry to hear about the little otter. Falling off the couch, eh? So much for macho accidents! My husband had to see the doc after having a trampoline accident. Was showing off, and hurt himself doing flips. We grin whenever we think about what must have been going through that doctor's mind.

Sorry to hear about the wounded otter. I read that thread right before my husband and I were to let my son babysit his sister for the first time. Luckly, the little one got a fever so we stayed home (I didn't have to get any more grey hair worry all night about them being home alone, of course the husband said I was being a big baby!) Anyway, hope little otter is feel better soon.

Yes, we are sorry about young otter too- and sorry for the parents! Y'all sound like you were amazingly calm and cool throughout!

And ktschris- sounds like we are in the same boat. We have a 12 (almost 13) yr. old son who is quite responsible, and a 3 (4 in Oct.) daughter who can be a handful. We haven't taken the big step of letting him solo sit yet- I can't decide whether SHE is old enough to make it work. What are your kids ages?

He's fine thanks. Don't let that stop you from going out... it won't stop us. They are boys and these things happen.

My son is 11 1/2 and my daughter is 5. Sometimes I think she is more mature than he is. But she can be a handfull. My son is begging me to let him babysit, but I think that's because he figures he'll make millions in babysitting money. I haven't broken it to him yet, if he does get paid, it won't be that much!

Thanks for the info. Age 5 girl may be a bit easier than age 3. We are working on it....we have a neighbor girl that is 10 and it may work out that son Will is the boss and our neighbor Gabbi is the entertainment- and pay them both $$$$ (as in I am so easily gipped).
