We've been coming to Seagrove/Seaside for 10 years--we stay in a condo that does have beach access, but for years, one of the joys of the beach for my husband and I is to walk to Seaside (about .9 of a mile) for pizza and a sangria slushie--this kind of sign issue would certainly put a damper on those beloved trips. We spend almost all of our money at Seaside when we're there--which is not inconsiderable (the FABS bathing suits alone, between my daughter and I, add up to more money that I'd like to admit!) Then there's the restaurant bills, groceries at Modica, a huge book bill at Sundog books...etc. etc.
What on earth is going on with Seaside and the rest of SOWAL??? I live in a similar "new urbanism" development in Memphis--we certainly don't preclude people walking in our neighborhood or using Miss Cordelia's (a Modica-like grocery store). This is nuts!! Husband and I are coming down this next weekend for a much needed R+R--if the whole beach scene is getting to fighting over who walks where, then quite frankly, then the big difference between SOWAL and Destin is destroyed.
