I just got home and my bike was stolen. It is dark green with gold letters. Its has Shimano components and has 18 gears. I loved that bike. It was a gift. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Sorry! A lot of times it's just a group of wandering kids. They ride it a couple blocks and ditch it. We had a family of renters that had a brand new bike stolen on their last night here. I found the bike about three blocks away just laying along the bike path. I was able to send the bike back to them via some friends that came down a few weeks later. I hope you're able to find yours!

Thieves just suck! Probably the same little sheeets that got the surfboards? :idontno: I hope whoever catches 'em teaches 'em a little lesson.

Maybe someone will pull a Jena 6 on the thieves.

Wow, the stolen bike in Seagrove is hard to believe. My sister leaves out bikes and kayaks, and they haven't been stolen. Knock on wood.

A couple years ago I got a new (to me at least) bike so I put the old one out by the road/bikepath for someone else - it was there for several days until my brain kicked in and I put a "free" sign on it.......then it was gone in 20 minutes!

If folks are going to start stealing stuff, they should start w/ the items left on the beach overnight!

Bike found! One of my neighbors had it! She thought it was one of three bikes her friends had left behind when she moved in. It was well taken care of and I so appreciate having it back!

My daughter called me in tears today over her freshly stolen bike. Her roomate's folding bike is in the background of the photo. I think we'll adapt, because Sarasota is as unsafe as anywhere I guess.

Oh, that stinks. Sorry. So what's inside the lock tubing...did they need wire cutters to cut through it?

It was a very stout braided steel cable about the thickness of your thumb.. I was thinking later that 15 bucks will buy you cheap Chinese bolt cutters that will defeat that cable. Bye, bye bike. My daughter's roomate carries her foldable bike up to the dorm room. I suggested that scenario today. She'll be walking to class at least until she comes home for Turkeyday. A new bike will be waiting.

You are such a trader, Bob! Are you getting the foldable bike or a regular bike with a bodyguard? :idontno:
