Anybody out there have words that they just can't stand to use or hear used? I have three and I absolutely cannot ever use them. I don't know why they just bother me. So hear they are Yummy, Beefy, and finally Panties! Never used in that order gross. Just typing them is hard but I did it. If you have any please share.

well, I love almost all bad words!!! and use them quite often. however, there are a few words that I could do without, they may be gross or just irritating to hear. here are a few...
first of all I dislike the word HATE. but these words are just gross sounding:
vomit
puss
snot
scrotum
head cheese
booger
fromunda cheese
hock a loogie
tea bag
schlong
crapper (but I like crap - and use it a lot)
arm pit
stink
I was going to say buttcheese - but I think I like that one.
but there are many irritating words that I can't remember and don't ever think about them until I hear them.
I just don't know what to say. How did you come up with so many??
I haven't heard fromunda cheese since high school! You are right- puss is a really gross word.

On the Top Chef Culinary Institute challenge episode, Padma said to Dale and Sara "One of you are going to the final, and one of you are going home".

Did he call it "oak - a - la" ? Hoo-ah!yeah, it was oak-a-la. tells me the editor was from n.y. too!
I'm more forgiving with mispronouncing town names, as there are so many different possibilities and influences. I grew up in an area with many towns etc. with Indian names and never thought anything of it until I had friends from Texas & California home for thanksgiving and they gleefully recited and mispronounced town names for days.
hmmmm......can't remember

This post looks like an admission of Tourettes...

I hate it when people say "birfday". Oh, living in the south!!
As for oxymorons, I wonder what is meant when "real wood" is advertised???

The sound of the word bothers me, I think it almost embarrasses me.

WIz Mom MOIST yes that word is horrible!! Also Juicy I have a hard time watching any commercials that talk about there burgers. They will aways seem to use either Moist, Juicy or Beefy.

you are right dbuck - poot is embarrassing - "oh poot!" - no it just doesn't work. crap, on the other hand just makes sense when you are trying to emphasize something.. like "what a load of crap!".
I like turd too. "get back in here you little turd!". it's better than MF when you are speaking to the young one.

That's one oxymornon that actually makes sense. They've come out with flooring that is photographed wood, so when you first look at it, to all intents and purposes, you think it's real. Except for the sound it makes when you walk across it. Real wood never sounds like its imitators. ;-)

The C word. The N word.
Both vile and repulsive.
Agreed, both make my skin crawl.
Other than those, no other words really bother me, unless it's just a mispronunciation of something. (I had a co-worker once who referred to Valentine's Day as ValentiMe's Day and it made me want to punch her.)
Also, my cousin Erin hates the word moist. She says it sounds gross.

Ask my son. When he was about 5 he put his arms around my neck and said, "Momma, you're a hard woman."
