disturbing trend seen shopping

I'm noticing the disabled and morbidly obese like to talk on the cell phone, arse planted in the battery powered shopping buggy, whilst blocking the aisles at Costco, Walgreens, Wal-Mart etc. Is anyone else noticing this or am I the disabled party?

Here is a story --

Many many years ago, before Bdarg and I were married, he challenged me on several of my shortcomings.

Anyway, apparently I used the word "can't" quite a bit, when actually "won't" was more appropriate. There were certain things that I didn't want to do due to laziness, apathy, whatever.

So - he told me that my "can't" attitude would someday manifest itself inside of me and turn me into a big fat lazy woman who would have to use the motorized cart at the grocery store.

I immediately had the mental picture of me, with my butt hanging off either side of the seat, throwing that motorized shopping cart in reverse, and backing up like a big ol' dump truck. Beep beep beep. Loading my cart full of cookies and soda pop, and endruing the scorn of the skinny workout moms in their cute workout clothes. It was truly a come to Jesus moment.

I know that at some point in my life I may need some motorized wheels in the grocery store, but it will only be if I am injured or ill. Just shoot me if my only reason to ride is because I am a lazy larda$$.

Thank you Bdarg.;-)

Skunky is reading over my shoulder and doubting the validity of this story. "There is no way BDarg said that," says Skunky.

 um. no comment on this one...

BTW, I have had to use a motorized thingy in the grocery store with one leg in a cast and carrying an infant in a sling. everyone stares even though they try not to. "poor woman with an infant". pleeeze. I was just tired of NOT getting out, so I just starting going and doing my own dang shopping. BUT, I cannot imagine trying to shop in an electric cart while talking on the cell phone - VERY dangerous. much like people driving cars, I might add.

Bobby-baby - it ain't the cart. its the cell phone. people are out of control with them. why do they need to talk on the phone while shopping anyway? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeZe. I can understanding needing to call and check on an item with your partner. but otherwise, just driving the cart down aisles is difficult enough.

It's talkin' and drivin' on the highways and biways that really kills me though. Especially inexperienced drivers but others too that already sucked at driving and being aware of other drivers, before talking on the phone too. :idontno::roll:At least hoveround in the store aisle doesn't kill anyone.I haven't really noticed the trend, I guess. If I had to be in one though I think it should have a f627in' cupholder. It's makin' me thirsty just thinkin' about it.
