Poor dd and Sunkist have once again hit a monsoon on their way back to TX. They just called from Monroe, LA...looking for oars. I looked on the radar for them and didn't have good news. I told Sunkist it was our tears because they left. :(

I hope everyone else had a safe and uneventful trip home.

Glad everyone made it home OK! I, myself, though only an hour away, ended up staying an extra night with Cork and Biff- putting a nightcap on an excellent weekend, yet staying up waaaaayyyyy tooooooo late! We were up till 3ish and I had to be at work in the morning. Went to bed, got up at the crack of dawn (6:30-after almost 3.5 hour sleep), quietly snuck out of the house, stopped at Burger King drive through at 98/77, then zipped home and was in bed (again) by 7:30am. Slept till 9:15am was showered and out the door by 9:30am, at work and loggine in by 10:15am.
Got home from work about 8:30pm, took the leftover Crab Claws from Harbor Docks last sunday night, quickly refried them in a hint of lemon butter, and turned on the computer to catch up on all the Sowal News.
While the computer was warming up, I sat on the couch to flip on the news and-PASSED OUT! Imagine that.

Just woke up at 4:am! Hmmmm-think I might be worn out?:yikes:
It was well worth it!
This was one of the best weekends ever! Seeing fellow sowalians and new ones and lurkers....and the flow of event after event-planned and unplanned, topping it off with a sunset cruise. We rock!

Heard about the horrible weather on Biff's Weather alert phone. Was concernd for his wife in Oklahoma as they got hit hard. And of course realizing that a handful of Sowalians were driving back through it as well-
so glad y'all made it home safely...

I'm gonna snoop around and do some catchin up. Good to be back on the board...

I couldn't believe you guys stayed up another hour after I went to bad. You are wildmen!!!! It was one of the best weekends ever for me too thanks to all of our sowallers. Sunday AM, we met up with BB ,DK and company at the Santa Rosa Beach Club. Then over to Flutterby where we caught up with beautiful IBD and precious Liv but only for a short while cause DK arranged a spur of the moment trip on the Nathaniel Bowditch for sunset. It was Biff's first and what a beautiful sunset with wonderful friends. Here's a couple of pics of our Sunday Post HoDown happening.

Gullfriend! What are you doing up at this hour? Are you still up or just getting up? I woke up on the couch a bit ago, and surfing sowal, then going back to bed for a few hours and then to work.....

I just loaded the disc of pics you gave me into the computer and LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!! Thank you sooooooo much! What a gift!

Thank you again and again for your hospitality! Did ya get my little note? The bed was comfy, and as I said, the moment the sun peeked into the room, I was dressed and outta there. Glad I got my hugs hours before!

Next time we're painting our toenails!

Back on thread ;-), our trip home from SoWal yesterday was not so good. When we were about halfway home, my brother called and said that he was at the ER in Newnan with Mom because she had fallen and broken her right hip (she broke her left hip in 1996). We rushed back home, dropped off the dog, and headed for Newnan.

My sister left Seagrove on Monday, but their flight from Fort Walton to Dallas had been cancelled due to weather, and they couldn't get out until yesterday afternoon. She got to Dallas about the same time we got home, then she had to hop on a flight from DFW to ATL.

Long story, but they couldn't schedule Mom's surgery until this afternoon. Thank goodness the surgery went well (knock on wood). She has a long recovery ahead of her and will have to be on Coumadin for months to avoid the life-threatening blood clots that hospitalized her when her other hip broke. Note to self: start taking Fosamax again (even if it means I have to wait 30 minutes for my morning coffee), continue the 1200 mg of calcium every day, and start back with the weight training. I, too, have osteoporosis.

Right after surgery, Mom said, "I'm glad I only have two hips because I'd hate to know I have more of them to break.:("

Thanks to you two and everyone else who sent or tried to send me a pm (my message box was full) with well wishes for Mom. Unfortunately, she is so weak from her Alzheimer's anorexia that I am scared that she isn't strong enough for rehab. And she is in end-stage Alzheimer's, so she is not lucid enough to follow the physical therapist's instructions or communicate properly.:(
