Seen any good movies?

This weekend Indiana got whallopped with Rita Rains, torrential downpours, so we curled up in front of the TV and watched movies!

TAXI with Queen Latifah was funny. She's a wild taxi driver in NYC, paired up with an inept cop. If you like car movies, this is a good one!

CRASH So sad, so sad, very intense movie that sticks with you a long time.

We haven't been to the "real" movies in a while. I'm waiting for them to build one on 30-A....

Crash was amazing. That's one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

Thumbsucker- went to see that Sunday and walked out 30 minutes in. Horrible
Green Street Hooligans was good
40 Year Old Virgin

I feel like I should be more of a movie buff. Crash is really the only move that has really stuck out to me lately... Friday may be a movie night for me after last weekend and in preparation for a big football Saturday with FL/AL and AU/SC. I'll keep you posted. Dying to see the Exorcism of Emily Rose...my friends are weinies and won't see it with me!

Showgirls has been playing on VH1 over and over and over and over again... They cut the good stuff out though.

"Animal House" was on last night- we were marveling how agile John Belushi was in that movie- climbing, jumping, etc. when he was probably pretty durn cooked....

It has become an underground favorite (the uncensored version).

When I was in college, we LIVED Animal House--that was when the drinking age was 18 and fraternity parties ruled. The University of Lowell (MA) had a spring bash that left the streets with more beer cans than anything outside of Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street! Man, those were the days. And the mother in me says Praise the Lord about that :lolabove: because I now have a college freshman! Whew.

We really do have the same taste in movies.

In no particular order:
Jaws
Animal House
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Caddyshack
The Jerk
Revenge of the Nerds
Breakfast Club

Can you say 80's movie junkie?

Dat's me

Yup we do! Make that all John Hughes movies, not just Breakfast Club (Sixteen Candles!)

Can't let the kids see Jaws- don't want them to be ocean chickens like me (as in will only swim whne I can see the bottom).

Watched the censored version of Animal House- my son can't believe anyone actually gatored or wore togas. From what I hear fraternity/sorority life is nowhere near the level it was when we were in school. Which is a good thing.

Caddyshack- ohhhh the candy bar in the pool scene! Or Spalding eating his booger.....

I haven't watched Fast Times in a few years- need to review before Will views.

Of course they all sound great now 'cause Dora is on....

I'm a sucker for any Chris Guest/Michael McKean movie...
Spinal Tap, Best in Show, Mighty Wind, Waiting for Guffman. That whole cast is hilarious.

Yes, I love those too?

Has anyone seen the new movie with Eugen Levy and Samuel L Jackson? It seems like a hilarious match up.

I watched Anchorman again the other night and although I hated it the first time, really loved it the second...in fact we watched it again after that so now I've seen it three times..."you're like a little hairy Budha"

I also loved the new "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Movie", also better the second time around.

Is it "Must Love Dogs", with Diane Lane?

Saw "The Constant Gardener" with Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz, it was quite good.

Saw "Flightplan" with Jodie Foster, it was pretty good, esp if you like Foster.
The plot pooped out a little at the end, but she is really good.

Last night I watched "The Philadelphia Story," it is a favorite of mine.

Next up on Netflix: "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Born Into Brothels."

Original Willy Wonka...I LOVE that movie! Made all the boys take me to see it in high school....torture for them!!!

"Waiting for Guffman"...close second..."BASTARD PEOPLE", love my Corky!!! Christopher Guest is a genius! (that word looks misspelled...omg, so does that one...I am losing my mind!)

"E.T".....cry like a baby everytime

I really just love a good comedy and sometimes a drama...no mysteries, no violence...I get skeered (thanks for that spelling KD...I love it!)
