Hubby just annouced that since he's changing jobs and has to use another week of PTO before he leaves, he thinks he'll just "run down to florida" for a week....WITHOUT ME!!! I have no PTO, spent it in August down there with HIS WHOLE FAMILY! Cooked, cleaned, ran everybody around since they all flew and I drove--got stranded on the beach during a mini-hurricane because "someone" was in my vehicle at a bar! We had originally planned to both come down, but I thought we had decided since I didn't have any time, he would go elsewhere..but...he musta missed that conversation. :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Well, I wouldn't blame ya if you did. No, j/k. I think I would try to work out a way for you to take time off w/out pay. Is the new job a promotion and pay raise? Maybe that would make up the difference. I can understand your frustration. Good luck!

I recommend a long weekend (or even at week) at Canyon Ranch when you next have vacation time. Not as retribution, but as fair play. A woman never fully realizes how much time we spend doing for others (even with help) until you have several days where all you have to think about is what healthy and enjoyable things you want to do with your day and when you want to walk over and enjoy a delicious, healthy meal prepared for you (and cleaned up) by someone else! Canyon Ranch isn't just a health spa...they have classes and professionals for your bod, your heart and mind, and your spirituality. The first time I went there, my husband took one look at me upon return and said, "You should do this every year." So I put some savings into a little account of its own that makes enough each year to send me there. That way, I don't have to think about all the other things I should be doing with my time or money. That one long weekend each year is the most important thing I've done just for myself in a long time. This place ROCKS and so do you!

Remember: If he's on his side and you're on his side, too.....who's going to be on your side? Do something special and relaxing for yourself and make no apologies. That is a good alternative to a divorce, which no one in their right mind wants. Good luck.

Thanks, all! I wouldn't REALLY divorce him, but I like the idea of going somewhere too. I could take the time off without pay, but the demands of the job right now are overwhelming...maybe if I whine enough at work, my boss will take pity...
will keep you posed--maybe I'll get there after all!

I don't think you should diveroce him. But you should call him and tell him I'll meet him at the Red Bar

No divorce, especially if you have kids. I mean, you've probably ticked him off big-time somewhere along the way and didn't even know it. "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus." As long he hasn't abused you physically or mentally and hasn't cheated on you (possibly exposing you to some fatal STD), I'd let him know how I feel (don't drag it out - men hate that) and then move on.

I got a plan! Tell him to go then you fly or drive there and surprise him or stork him! And if you are thinking about divorce talk to me first! I'll show you my Divorce papers and what to do before you file! I might have been crazy but I wasn't stupid! ;-)

RO: :clap_1: From what I've read here, I think the two of you might be a dangerous combination! LOL!

GTTBM: I like it!

Dabell: Might be an option.

BR: Divorce is really not an option--I only considered it for half a second--not seriously. He's a good guy, just a little insensitive sometimes. :idontno:

Will advise if I make it after all-maybe the red tide will be gone by then???

I think you should find him some stuff to do around the house for a week - if your house is anything like mine, I bet you can find plenty to keep him busy!

So sorry hon - guess I'm lucky to have married such a handy guy! Besides, he can't go anywhere without me - I'm always the navigator!

I'm usually the navigator too, but he's flying, so I guess I'll have to leave that up to the airline. I'm going to get a new attitude about this whole thing though. Been looking for deals to Vegas.....long weekend. Or, maybe I will go to Fla and surprise him. Maybe I'll just stay home and read and watch chick flicks all week. He said he's gonna look for property, maybe he'll buy some! That would make me most un-mad!

SURPISE HIM! Do not stay home! Go with your gutt feelings! Trust me...
And why would he buy anything without you? This is not right! If you and he would have spoken about having time alone without eachother, then I think you would be ok with this, but you and he didn't. You know, married men sometimes ( like married women ) feel old and they seek to feel young.

If you go and he is not expecting you, you certainly may surprise him.

I have some cousins who have been coming down to Grayton Beach every year. She comes down in September with her girlfriends, and he comes down with the boys in February. I don't think they ever come down here together and they really enjoy themselves. They have a great marriage.

That's them and no two are a like. I believe in time alone. but, as a couple, both parties need to agree.

I would tell him that you'll be going without pay and you'll all only stay, half a week. That way, he'll make up for your lost wages! Actually, you can include a full weekend and have a whole week, anyway. If he doesn't agree to that, he may have another agenda! :nono1:

Ask your boss, to put themselves in your shoes! What would they want to happen? :idontno: We know that answer, don't we? Also, tell the boss that they have to allow it, because SOWAL SAYS SO! :clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1:
