I just signed the lease today for a brand-spankin'-new apartment. (So it's in Bay County.... but it's only $600/month and it's close to work.) I'm gonna live on my own like a real adult.

If anyone needs mooching lessons, please feel free to ask. It seems that I've become the Grand Poobah of Can I Sleep At Your House? (Maybe that should be my new Indian name...)

So, PV, when do I come stay with you?

:lolabove:
Whenever you want. You can help me make some dropcloth slipcovers.

Congratulations little Spud. I would like a tour in July. Perhaps by then the couch will be slip covered. Have a smooth move!

I like those ideas. My grandma has been adamant that I don't take this couch, because she thinks it will be "junky, and I don't want you to put crappy furniture in that nice apartment."

But I feel like with some slipcovers and Febreze, it'll be fine.
Molls, you've seen my couch. That things been in the family for like two decades, the slipcover works fine!!! I'll be there to help!

Congrats on the move!

Better than slipcovers: I go to Home Depot and get the big canvas drop cloths. (The real cloth ones.) They're about $16, and are 9' x 12' or something huge like that. Stop by the nail/screw aisle and get some furniture nails. For less than $20 you have a re-upholstered couch in a neutral color. If you wash the cloths first with some fabric softener, they're pretty soft, too. Then you go to Target and get some colorful throw pillows.

Those cloths make great drapes, too--got the idea out of Better Homes and Gardens. I have them in my bedroom. I put some heavy fringe on one end, folded the fringed end over 4' from the top, and hung them floor-to-ceiling from cafe rods. My walls are red, and the effect is pretty amazing. My dad will bring their friends over just to show off my drop cloths.

Kimmi and I did this when we lived in Grayton and Gussifunn painted it for us :funn:

PV are you going to start posting on the Panama City board

Ha! Yes, I've seen your couch. I believe that one's been hit with the Febreze once or twice, too.

Looking forward to having you here. You wanna help me decorate?

How sweet, sowalgayboi!:clap:BTW, SWGB, Russ told me that he received the gift card. Thanks, again!
I have a truck and someone I can easily trick into manual labor. All you have to do is cook a meal for us.

Recycle that bad boy, with a slip cover!:D That's doing your part, for our environment!;-) Good luck!
My boss said he has a couch in his garage I can have if I just take it off his hands. I need to check out the condition first.

Oh my gosh. I love you. Seriously.

I don't have a whole lot of large items, but I do have a bed that needs to go up to a third-floor apartment (there are no elevators) and possibly a couch. (My boss said he has a couch in his garage I can have if I just take it off his hands. I need to check out the condition first.)

And I will definitely feed you. I want to cook a big pot of gumbo but I might have to settle for something that doesn't take quite as long.
Congrat's Vixon! I wish I knew all it took was a meal!.....We arrived yesterday, Loaded the truck on the other end ourselves...... then got here and unloaded again, by ourselves..... Youngin didn't arrive until late afternoon. (but I think he planned it)

PV, I'm so happy for you. We just missed you at work on Friday, it seems. Dang--that food was good even if you didn't cook it for us.

My server told us that you're dying to cook a steak for someone. I promise I'll get one if ever we're there at the same time.

Hope your move is humming along. If you ever need help with inexpensive, funky, functional decor, I'm better than HGTV. You wouldn't believe all the furniture I've never bought.
