Here's a pic of our friends in Atlanta's pup and new baby.
Oh my gosh. That is the freakin cutest thing I've ever seen. Ever!

My little brother took that picture of Roxy...She's kinda old, going a little gray, but he said he held a hamburger up to get her to stand still to take a picture.

Hamburger's will do it every time. Our boxer, Mack, is getting a little grey on the muzzle, too. He'll be 6 in February.

I actually think Boxers love anything. I have never met one that I did not love. I think that will be my next dog. I will find one at a Boxer rescue organization. I would love that!!!!

I have a friend that breeds boxers, I think she's got six or eight of her own. They're all just like a bunch of kids and they have really funny names, like Floyd Henley! :floor: He's named after a man we know. When one of the mother's is getting close to having pups, my friend sleeps on a cot in the room with her. It's pitiful how much those dogs are spoiled! Ok, maybe my baby is too!

Yes, I understand the reasons for the cross breeding. I like labradoodles and would like to own one. I just think it is ironic that breeders want $2,000 for a puppy that, 10 years ago, would have been considered a mutt and probably found free in the newspaper.

I think $2000 for a dog is a bit much too- pure bred, cross bred, or otherwise!

Which is why I decided not to get one  .

Me neither! And I really decided against it when a local hotsy totsy waltzed into the clinic with her 2 Labradoodles- straight off the plane from Australia. You could tell someone told her they were the "it" dog and cost a fortune. And for this type of gal, that is all you had to say- she got on the computer and bought 2! I can just hear her now whining to her husband- "I want a Labradoodle and I WANT ONE NOW!!!" She kinda ruined it for me.

Not unless they want to chase that squirrel in the back yard, or have taken on the job of being the "doorbell"! I think it's all in the training. :rolling:

But they are very trainable. They are smart and quick learners.

You must know the breed, but I've got some retired neighbors that have what I would characterize as the barking machine from hell. After 1.5 years of listening to the dog bark at squirrels or anything that moves, the bluehairs bought a bark collar. It's almost funny, but now the poor thing grunts as it is shocked by the collar. It will not stop trying to bark.

Actually, you are right. Since we don't let ours actually bark at the squirrels, she runs around whining/growling(?) looking pitiful at us begging for us to let her out. It can get quite comical watching her do everything to get out except bark! (Because we don't allow that anymore)

Just brought Fiona home (the newer hairy dog)- she was spayed yesterday. Now the fun starts- keeping her quiet! She is ready to play! We were hoping she was already spayed, but since she had been tied to a tree in Redneckville, spaying probably wasn't something that was ever going to happen to her. Thankfully she wasn't pregnant or in heat!

Sueshore- it's too bad Fiona and Molly can't recoup together from their respective procedures. On second thought, I think it is the MOMMIES that need to rest!

I hear ya'!!! Give Fiona a kiss for me! How can you keep her quiet...maybe in a crate!!? I brought Molly home yesterday a little earlier and she was still partly in a coma!!! I held her like a baby for over an hour while she drooled on me...I was in HEAVEN! Couldn't leave the room either. She decided to come to about 3:30 am and wanted to run around the yard in circles! BTW...GREAT NEWS!!! Her dentist (isn't that a hoot?) is VERY pleased with her progress in just a week and thinks it will progress much faster! She now has PINK rubber bands!!!

Sueshore, I'm cracking up with all the Molly rubber band stories. My son had braces and he'd get a new color of rubber bands every time he went to the orthodontist. I'd look at him and tell him to open his mouth so I could see if he was sporting pastels or bolds that month. :funn:
