I needed to start this thread for a bit of pity and a momentary wallow in my misery.

For six rental seasons, I have done the same thing. I arrive to our place and do the bi-annual change out of slipcovers. Washed the Summer covers, put them up and put on the Fall covers, which had been washed last Spring.

Mr. K calls me last night and says we got a bill for the deep clean. Fine, good. Then he read me the ridiculous amount they have charged us for DRY CLEANING all the slipcovers!!!! We even were charged for "upholstery cleaning" the outdoor cushions, which I always wash! So, I just washed slipcovers that were recently drycleaned (I told them to never do this). :bang:

Thank you...I feel better. I will be having a meeting today.

Go ahead...rant away! :wave:

I love this weather. Put on some ugly socks, make a pot of vegetable soup and take a walk on the beach. It is beautiful on the beach when it is cold and overcast.

My rant- out of town on small vacation= good. Three work days of missed emails totaling over 120 (responses needed for about 40), two projects to complete that should be further along by others who were doing the preliminaries, and bills to pay all by tomorrow at 5= not so good. Need a haiku or deux..

Here ya go--I'm ready to rant! I'm providing illustrations.

Last night I had a lovely fight with the shiny new boyfriend.

Suddenly I remember how much I like being single. :banging:

This morning I woke up at 5:15 and couldn't go back to sleep. I went to work instead. :yawn:

By 3:00 I had body aches. I am on an incredibly strong dose of antibiotics already for bronchitis, but the school nurse told me that he thinks I need to be tested for strep.

I made an incredibly personal reply to a message on Facebook before I realized it was a THREAD. :doh:

Then I split my favorite pajama bottoms. There is nothing that says, "Your butt is way too big" like ripping a pair of pants...

One of my friends called me to see what was up with me, and I couldn't help but laugh (even though it caused tremendous pain in my throat.) Sometimes it's just so awful that it's funny...

I have mixed feelings about being "hooked up" with the "panty guy." I know we're talking about the guy who robbed Victoria's Secret, but I keep getting a mental picture of one of SWGB's buddies... :blink:

OH!!! I forgot part of my rant:

Yesterday, BEFORE I got in the ridiculous, nonsensical fight with the shiny new boyfriend ("relationships scare me but I want to be in a relationship with you...") I had an email from another very nice man who wanted to take me to dinner. I don't think I've been seriously pursued in the space of a year EVER. I can't win.

I am now running the first fever I've ever had in my life. (Normal temp 97.1 to 97.4. Current temperature 100.8)

Thank GAWD that Romancing the Stone is on t.v. at 4 a.m. Maybe I can get through this.

Yahoo News headline reads, "Barack Obama easily beats John McCain and becomes the first black U.S. president."

In the age of political correctness when most white people want to refer to black people as African American, it is ironic that the headline describes Barack as "black," rather than African American, when Barack is one of the few people who really is African American (mother being American and father being African), but who isn't black, but rather, bi-racial.

My other rant for the political day is all of the major networks who like to call things a fact when they are not yet fact. They are supposed to be news journalists working for these networks, yet all I heard last night was the journalists saying that McCain had won this state, or Obama had won that state, when in actuality, at the time they were reporting, the fine print on the TV stated that 0% or 1% of the voting results were in for that particular state. They were basing what sounded like fact, on exit polling.
