Does Anyone Shop on EBay?

Make up scares me too, but I wear it sometimes. I know it helps make me look "pulled" together, but I really hate taking it off at night! I actually had a bare escentuals make over at Ulta. Bought it too. By the time I got home, my face was stinging...I am guessing it was not the make up, but the brush being swipped over and over my face by the guy! It did look nice. I took it back.

How do you know the people selling you stuff won't just take your money and not send the item you bid on?

I don't think it would have been the makeup since it's recommended by dermatologists and other skin care professionals at spas. Probably the brush wasn't clean enough? I bought some of their blush yesterday at Sephora and I wanted the foundation powder, too, but I couldn't stand to spend almost $50 in cosmetics in one fell swoop. Hence trying EBay. I plan on spending lots of time on SoWal and the Bare Escentuals has a sunscreen factored in, and I liked that.

EBay has ratings on its sellers so you can read the feedback and see if their customers are happy. You never want to deal with someone who has less than a 98% rating if you can help it.

Steeleing1, once my mother was bidding on a pair of shoes and Merman and I were watching her. (This consititutes entertainment in Indiana. :blink: ) We were screaming into the computer screen "UP that bid!" "You're letting the other bidder get you!" "Smack that bid down!" etc etc etc and as the minutes were ticking away we got noisier and noisier. Until our daughter yelled from her room "Will you two be quiet? Someone's trying to do their homework here!" We shut up after that!

A good friend of mine just took a position at Shop ETC. in the beauty department and she's now my in. She brings all sorts of goodies around. All she does is call it in and it's ours...all OURS! :clap_1:

E-bay---I have to watch myself on E-bay. So does Bdarg.

It saved our lives this week when we were trying to find a specific out-of-print book for his mom's Christmas present- E-bay is a great place to start for stuff like that.

I find really cool new clothes for Kate that I can't find around here- my favorite is her funky Oilily raincoat. Bought from some gal in Germany.

I know a woman who was divorced & a single mom and she swears that she shopped at flea markets, garage sales, and then sold stuff on EBay and that was her supplemental income to put her 2 children thru college. She's now a pro at it and even gives courses at local continuing ed. centers. She said if you really want to make the most $$, then don't deal in stuff that weighs a lot because of the shipping. She made most of her $$ in scouting out vintage fabrics, table cloths, linens. Got top dollar and less cost in shipping. She's very savvy.

YIKES...that bad, huh? When I first got cable, I think I was addicted to QVC! I was mesmerized by that channel!!! Didn't buy (okay...one thing), but couldn't stop watching it!

me too ! i had to have it on all the time, i'll admit i did buy a few things. i think their quality and selection has kinda gone down hill tho.
