South Beach that is. Miss Kitty mentioned she was starting again. Anyone else? It's been a year or so since I've dieted and I forget a lot of the recipes. I need to lose at least 10 lbs and my goal is 16. I made this cute little ticker chart and I'm testing it to see if it works here. I'm starting at Phase One and I'm getting ready to go the grocery. We can do this together to stay motivated and share recipes!

Each year the county in which I teach has a program called "Melt Down, Shape Up". You get teams of 10, go as a group and weigh in (as a group on a cattle scale), that's a hoot!! Then, individually you weigh, get height, measurements, and fat count. (fun) Each person keeps up with miles each week, a chart is provided for different activities, such as, biking, working in yard, aerobics, so on. We turn in our miles each week--at the end of 6 weeks--go back weigh as a group and then have each thing indiviually done. This really keeps us on our toes to lose the weight!! There are individual and group awards, this has been a very positive activity for our county and it seems to grow each year.I know a group of ladies who throw $10,000each into the hat each winter and whoever looses the most weight by spring, gets the entire kitty (money). Think that is motivation? That is some serious dough, enough to buy a Mercedes (there are about 8 ladies in the group).
