The crabs

I know. I'm curious too. They've really been advertising and building up the new season. I read on MSN (so it must be true😀) that Phil wanted the cameras rolling while he was in the hospital prior to his death.

His website backs that up, and they did film it. Over the course of the show he became very close with the guy (Todd Stanley) who shot the Cornelia Marie to the point that they were past the Captain / Videographer relationship.

The site said that Discovery has all of the footage, but they have said that they will not do anything with it until they hear what the family's wishes are for the footage. I can understand if they say don't use it, but then again, it was Phil who scrawled on a note pad that said, "Got to get the ending, ending to the story." Todd asked him again if he wanted to keep filming, and Phil indicated "yes". His sons idolized him. My guess is that they will do what Phil wanted...

Loved it. I thought they made it a little more "artsy" and personal--especially the intro...haunting.

That scene with Phil and Jake at the end of last night's epsiode was difficult to watch... and even more so knowing that Phil has since died. That poor family....:(
