Ok, this pup-rescue adventure is prompting this thread.
I've never had more than one dog at once. Last night my friend told me that "two dogs are better than one. But three dogs are worse than one or two, because things start to get political." Interesting!
What is your experience with one dog vs. two? Is two better than one? Two can keep each other company, sure, but if you travel a lot as we do, it would seem much harder to deal with. You can bring one dog to a friend's house, but not two. We were initially just trying to foster and place this little pup, but I think I may already be in love... ;-) Any thoughts or advice?
edit: sorry Kurt, meant to post this in the Lounge. I can't figure out how to move it...

yay molly :clap_1: dory got her staple out monday, and it is doggie dental month at the vet. the tech offered a free "tutorial" on brushing dory's teeth and they would do a free cleaning. my reply to her was if you wanna stick your hands in her mouth, you go right ahead! she will be 8, still has all her teeth and every one of them is sharp and pointy, good enough for me, i'm not putting my hands anywhere near the chomping machine !

I grew up always having two dogs....that was funn! I love this pup! Can I be a Goddogmother? That's so great! I'm so glad we didn't have to go through that with my Pepper, but as you might recall, we were about a week away from doing the same. Thankfully, her baby tooth fell out, and the permanent tooth straightened out as it came in.

BTW I heard from the breeder today. All of Pepper's siblings are well on their way to becoming champions at almost 12 months old. We've chosen not to go the show dog route.

We've always had 2. We've had Kate and Alley (outdoor dogs all the way). Then we had Bonny and Clyde (our szhnauzer babies) now we have Bailey and Guinness (2nd set of schnauzer babies). They keep each other company and enough "sibling rivalry" to make it intersting.
B&G are the first "brother, sister" duo we have had. They are adorable! So sweet. But all the others have been just as special. It may take a while for them to "just get along" but, the payoff is well worth the effort!

Poor Mocha was constantly being rushed to the vet for stitches - Chocolat loved to bite her in the eye area. Both were female - maybe that was it. By the names of yours (Bonnie and Clyde), it sounds like you have one female and one male.

They BOTH looked at them, sniffed them maybe once and they laid in the living room for 2 weeks (the greenies)! I finally gave them away. Are they supposed to eat them, or just chew on them, or what?

i think they chew on them and they get the tartar and plaque off the teeth. dory won't use them either. she only likes rawhide treats, and the fancy icing dog treats we get from this place in destin (the doggy bag)

The breeder uses them to calm her dogs down at AKC shows, thus the name "Doggie Dope."
