I’m listening to the ringing in my head.....prob from either listening to my music too loud, for too long, or for being too close to the live concert speakers....Mama said....

I hope yur joking. The sixties/seventies is way past. We are all just grooving to Kenny G now, right?

I decided that I needed to make myself feel really insignificant as a musician so I've been streaming videos from Toto. Holy cow, Batman! They were so good in every aspect!no 80's songs would be complete without a few from Toto. IU grad 1987.

Continuing my late 70's / early 80's theme...
The Knack...OMG! Probably the single most unappreciated band of that era. They had the label of being a Beatles rip off, but they were anything but that. Their songs sounded so simple, but if you dive into them they really stand out from a musician's perspective. I don't think they ever got a fair shake, and unfortunately, when your first hit is a monster like "My Sharona" nobody will ever think your follow up albums and songs are as good.
There's a whole concert from Carnegie Hall 1979 on YouTube. Go find it and watch it. Has a great twist at the end!
And, no...I would never link a "My Sharona" video!

I have "Get the Knack" on vinyl. I just digitized it. Every song is a good one. Same with the Vapors first album.

One of my all time favorites from the same time period:

I just discovered this one. Cool 60s style organ. Clapton on guitar!

A lot of people , when they hear the name Steve Winwood, think "Back in the Highlife" again, or worse yet, "Gimme Some Lovin', and they are misguided. His last two albums, "About Time". and "Nine Lives" are really excellent albums, of thoughtful. mature music.

Cannot go wrong with King Crimson or anything with Adrian Belew in it, for that matter!

I discovered the new King Crimson when I saw them on Saturday Night Live about 1984 or 1985. I bought the album Discipline and was a devotee of them and Belew ever since. I just discovered this video last night and it’s just the epitome of them and music in general.

Love his stuff with The Bears, but his solo stuff is the bomb! This still one of my all time faves along with Lone Rhinoceros...

My latest discovery is a jazz funk group called Vulfpeck. They don't take themselves too seriously. They also have an offshoot called Fearless Flyers who have a video you may have seen on FB.
