Pet Peeves--New and Improved for 2010

I looked back and it's been like two whole years since we've mentioned our pet peeves. I was too lazy to read the other threads, so I don't know if I've mentioned this, but it's one that just drives me nutz.

Spray bottles (cleaners, etc) that stop spraying when there's still about two freakin' inches of cleaner in the bottle. That little pump tube thing is too short to reach the bottom. I know they do this on purpose, so you'll buy more, but oh man, it makes me cuss so much every time. :pissed::pissed::pissed::pissed::pissed:

Using an apostrophe to separate the "s" in plural nouns and proper names.

"Merry Christmas from the Smith's!":bang:

"The dog's were playing outside."

ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I saw this awful error in yet another local advertisement.

The vibrating brush was the last straw for me!

They've obviously mastered mascara, perhaps they could put some of that lab time and research towards something that is of more benefit to women - breast cancer, skin cancer etc.

Even more so because most of their models look like they are being attacked by spiders around their eyes!

awesome, amazing, AND fabulous.

thank you for articulating this pet peeve BR. I have always silently cringed when I hear these but only when the same person keeps using the same description in such a dramatic way. every effing thing is either awesome, amazing or fabulous. "FAAAAAAAAAAAABulous!" but its usually just ONE of those words all the time.

It bothers me but I've never said so out loud til this AWEsome thread. the bad thing is that I am guilty of these words too but I try to use a variety - at the least!

these words are but a few that are overused, and so the meaning becomes almost meaningless. when was the last time you really meant something was awesome - by the true definition of "awesome"? so, now everything we say is awesome is just plain old satisfactory or ordinary. too bad.

You're fabulous!! My favorite person says this one all the time.

What's a hooptydo? I have a friend that repeats this over and over (and now I just remembered what I forgot earlier.......drunks that repeat themselves over and over.)

I don't know what it is really!

The whole entire texting format is one of my pet peeve. Even in a text is it too much to ask to type out TO instead of 2? Or see instead of C? It takes lazyness to another level!

thank you. I thought it was just me being old and uncool. and with my new phone typing is as easy as my PC keyboard. I don't mind abbreviating - and I do some of that. but I guess I'm no expert texter to start with. (I'm getting to be though!)

People who drive way under the speed limit in the left lane while I am trying my best to get to the dentist, who agreed to work me in, due to a chipped tooth.

I was really hoping 2010 would start off without any drama. :bang:

It's true. You could put an eye out like that. Here I have been all these years trying to hold my mascara wand still and they come out with a vibrating one. I'd have to be drunk to use it :drink2:

I miss and love ya, DD  and I'm worried about aggieb :(

Actually its my older brother's fault. :floor:He hit me in the mouth with a football in high school and chipped it. It has been bonded before.

The bonding had gotten fragile with age and the spoon did it in.

Its fixed and just sensitve right now.

I agree with you on people having no driving skills or acts of kindness on the road.

My second peeve is people walking down the middle of the area between the parking spaces. Why can't they go to the left or right instead of meadering in the middle where no one can go past them?:idontno:
