what are you craving now? comfort food, drink, candy, snack, or whatever it may be. (maybe its a cuddle or a kiss).

last week it was cornbread - the big fat southern skillet kind. oh, it was so gooooood.

this week its saltine crackers with butter. real butter. I haven't had those in so long I can't remember. seems like it was what we used to eat in restaurants when waiting for our food to arrive.

maybe they are winter time cravings. my cold has not dampened them in the least. if anything I am hungrier.

oh, and coke. craving it all week.

my next craving may be Modica's chicken & dumplings. I hope it is anyway.

We had pizza last night for dinner. Suasage and Mushroom, double cheese and well done so the cheese is a little brown. It was excelent. I think we are going to do a crab roast next weekend. Looking forward to that.

Turkey Wild Rice soup. The version with bacon, green onions, sherry and half and half. Terribly unhealthy, but my "D-Day" doens't start until the 23rd.......;-)

oh, we stop at Annie's in Luvurne all the time (over many years). the kiddo likes the fried shrimp or fried crab claws. I usually get the cat fish. but will get clams next time. they have the best ice tea.

Toots! That's our favorite favorite favorite spot on the way down to SoWal. When I see the big yellow and brown signs on the roadside I know that a good Southern dinner is only minutes away. We never pass Annie's without stopping!!

Here it is http://www.sowal.com/bb/dining-food/17390-chili.html#post310514 . BeachSiO2 is a big fan of it. In the recipe I reduced by about a half the amount of hot spices that Prudhomme recommends. It was too spicy for most people we know. If you like hot chili, you might wanna ramp that up.

got it thanks!!!

I crave:

70-degree, low-humidity sunshine
a six-figure job that has meaning
the ability to wear skinny jeans
not looking like I need to be ironed when I'm not wearing any clothes
a calorie-free organic merlot
the return of blissful ignorance
a spacious house with big, shady fenced yard
.
.
.
.
and a really decadent macaroni and cheese

I have always meant to try Barefoot Contessa's Mac and Cheese from one of her cookbooks. Have any of you tried it?

Haven't tried Ina's, but IBD had a good recipe. I think it's here somewhere.
