I predict we won't get snow, we'll just get the pre-snow frenzy at the grocery stores.

I drove through heavy flurries during my morning commute Wednesday. It was really coming down in northern Cobb County, but the wind was so strong that the flakes didn't stand a chance of accumulating in one place. They just made those swirly patterns on the road. Seemed to disappear when I got inside the perimeter (an hour later).

of course I'm flying into hartsfield friday and there's a 60% chance of snow. I find this info out after I book the flight! grreat!

:shock:....yikes, NO POWER? And here I was bemoaning the fact that my DishTV is out! This is quite the snowstorm. Mr. K is stuck in NYC. They first told him it would be SUNDAY before he could get out. Luckily the firm's travel person got him on a plane to Houston tomorrow.

Mr. DD's driving from San Antonio--says it's terrible driving. Worse than any experience anyone else in the world is having.

It IS quite the storm--they say 6-8" before it's all over. Holy Crap--I think this is more snow than I've ever seen HERE.

I'm afraid DD is w/o power!!!!! I spent an hour outside with various hoses and sprayers trying to rig it up to blow the snow off my dish. No luck and no TV. Bummer.

Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls of Fire, DD and Miss Kitty. Ya'll had some snow today in the Big D . Looks like it is still coming down. Were you without power for long? Thinking of you guys. (I learned to say "you guys" while living up north for awhile. Growing up here in SoWal and Houston, I used to think anyone that lived north of I-10 was a Yankee.)

Sis is supposed to send me pics from Dallas. She says it's beautiful.

That being said, so sorry that you have no power, DD. That stinks.

It's supposed to start snowing here at 6 AM. Daughter has a MWF 8:30 class with a prof who doesn't give any excused absences. Thankfully that prof cancelled class, so I advised her to leave tonight for her residence in Midtown Atlanta so that she won't get trapped here and can be with fianc? for Valentine's Day weekend.

The Mers and we had planned to get together tomorrow, but after checking the weather report, there are snow advisories for Auburn, Montgomery, Troy, and even a possibility of snow in SoWal. Hope that the warnings are just hype and that we can have funn with the Mers this weekend!

EDIT: I was 24, a professor at the University of South Carolina, and it was March spring break. We had reservations for our vacay in Myrtle Beach. There was a big snowstorm. We were determined to get to the beach and were lucky enough to make it there safely. However, it was too cold to go to the beach or pool or sunbathe. On the day before we had to be back at work, it got sunny and warm. We decided to max out that day. We both got so sunburned that it hurt to put on clothes. We both had to take a sick day on Monday.

Come on down, the snow will be gone by Saturday, but it's gonna be effing cold.

Mr. DD made it home just as I was chasing down the power truck to tell him where the pucking problem is. He looked, he left, he never came back. Pucker.
Mr. DD bought wet firewood. Took us about an hour to get the fire going. It went out about 2am. It was still snowing around midnight.
Y'all...I have never seen this much snow here. Unfreakinbelievable.
I'm at work now. Don't know how long I'll stay or where I'll spend tonight. I don't have much faith in those ONCOR mutherpuckers.
