Yes - funny, but not romantic. Why?

It's hard to spoil a movie with Meg Ryan but he has done it twice.

I'm having a senior moment. What other movie were they in together?? Can't think of it...

I was thinking Forget Paris but that was a Debra Winger movie he ruined.

I liked him in Monsters Inc., Analyze That, City Slickers - he needs to stick to gangsters, horses, and monsters.

Throw Momma From The Train - :funn:

In general, I don't like Billy Chrystal either, but I thought he was perfect, as a morally challenged publicity agent in America's Sweethearts. I don't like Julia Roberts either but John Cusack was simply brilliant as a neurotic actor in that movie.

I LOVED Like Water For Chocolate - the book was fantastic too. Has to be the one with subtitles though. Dubbed looses the charm and magic.

How to Marry a Millionaire... How can you beat a romcom with Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe and Lauren Bacall?! Classic!

Cusack is always on - he has charisma! Even his bad movies are watchable. Pretty Woman and Erin Brockovich make up for a lot of mediocre fare.

Titanic I like a lot. Braveheart i thought of but too much facepaint and blood to make the list (surprised you don't like Tebow). Danial Day Lewis - now there's an actor! Love Actually - I admit to having seen it more than most straight men.

A Good Year is excellent but it is more about a man finding himself than romance. Although the romance part is sweet. It was made in France, but if it had been made by French he would have slept with his younger cousin and his housekeeper. And his Limey buddy. As well as Marion Cotilliard the waitress.

Far and Away is incredible. Incredible in that it is actually a good Cruise movie. Top Gun is a better romantic movie. If you are gay. And if you are gay you might like it better than Brokeback Mountain.

Anyone seen Blue Broke Mountain Beach?

A Good Year--loved it! Love me some RC. Maybe I've mentioned that before.
The Way We Were--oh my gosh--hadn't thought of this in years. I still remember the scene where Babs reaches up and brushes the hair out of RR's eyes. Sigh......

John R--Chocolat...great flick. I love me some JD too-most of the time.

A Good Year has Russell Crowe who meets and pursues a beautiful woman in southern France. How much more romantic can you get? yes, it was only a side story but STILL. Russell Crowe!!!!!!!:wub::wub:

and Brokeback Mountain was a unique love story which I totally loved and appreciated - and features Heath Ledger!!!!:wub::wub: the love story is not unique in life, but it is very unique on film - which is what blew me away and made me think about gay men and women and how their lives must have been over the last centuries and more. imagine being gay, or ending up in a gay relationship (whether you are gay or not), back in the 50s - out west. you are asking for a killing. this is still not so far from reality in today's world in some places - in this very country. so, while I loved the love story part - I also loved how it made me really think about all the others in this world who have secretly loved, suffered and even died for love.
