Sounds like you're trying to upload from a temp file or the wrong folder. Have you saved them on your hard drive?. Not sure about the Pentax software but try opening up the pics after the usb is connected, highlight the photos you want (click control to multiple highlight), right click and try the "send to" or "save as" function.
Done that :bang:

Don't know anything about your camera but found this on an "upload troubleshoot Pentax" search. could this have anything to do with it?
Switching between the internal memory and an SD/MMC card is difficult and you can?t review images stored in the internal memory unless you remove the SD/MMC card. I don?t know why Pentax didn?t include a buffer. '
It's awful odd that you can upload to other sites and not the board. I wonder if it's the ftp that the board uses. Did find some mention on the web about compatibility with different ftp clients.
Also found something about xp service pack 2. Has you computer automatically updated xp on you?

You may be on to something here. My puter is set for automatic updates. I'll work on it tonight again.

There are a number of things that could be happening here. Take a file that previously didn't upload.
-What is the full name of the file?
-Where is it stored on your hard drive? Is it on the desktop or in a folder?
- What's the file size? Not the size of the photo, but the byte size in KB? (Go to Explorer, right click on file and click Properties. Check what it says in "Size".) Photos have to be under 145K, at least the ones I uploaded yesterday did. I kept having to reduce the jpeg quality to get them down to that.
- Can you point us to a photo on Kodak that won't upload here?

- folder (which is where all my photos are stored) under My Pictures and the same on GB's side of the puter.
- 2.32 MB (2,436,925 bytes)
- All the photos I posted from our trip last week are on Shutterfly and none of them will upload to SoWal. In fact none from my Pentax camera will upload to SoWal but will to every other hosting service I've tried (Kodak, Shutterfly, Photobucket)
Here is a photo

Since you can upload to various other services, I would think that we should look to the ftp cient for the board and potential incompatabilities or specs there. There's MANY troubleshooting questions and answers (several pages) for problems with the bulletin board software which is vBulletin Version 3.0.6. The answer should be in one of the 57 pages of support for vbulletin at
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/archive/index.php/f-59-p-51.html
Will poke around and see if I can find anything.

don't know if this is it but found this with another problem having graphic upload problems:
"You need to edit your PHP settings (not related to vBulletin) to allow larger uploads. PHP defaults to only allowing 2megs."

RO, if you have tried everything else, it's probably the same problem that you had when I helped you before. Valid filenames on Windows aren't necessarily valid on servers. Restrict your filenames to all letters of the alphabet and digits (no special characters or spaces or periods) followed by a valid extension (like .jpg or .gif) . Filenames on many servers are also case sensitive.

Well there's your problem right there, maybe. As I said in the previous post, I ran into the same thing yesterday. Turns out that when attaching a photo to a regular post using the "Manage Attachments" button, there is a size limit of 145KB (145,000 bytes). However, this size limit specifically pertains to when you're attaching files to posts...There may or may not be a size limit when uploading to the Photo Gallery. Not sure which you were attempting. Either way, try resaving the file as a jpeg (.jpg) with about 65-75% compression, and try again. See if that works.
If you need help resizing, feel free to PM me. 🙂
