Kish, I am impressed with your post count and your cooking abilities! I might have some ribs this weekend, too.Lynnie, the count is getting up there, I am surprised, thanks for all of the help. Between you and DD and COS I am on a roll.:rofl:
P.S. I talk to myself all the time. 😀

DD, I have only ever had red watermelon. I have never tried any other color. I usually cook babyback ribs and then some western ribis that are boneless. I personally like the babyback but Patty likes the western so we compromise and have both. I make my own sauce starting with openpit and then add some secret ingredients. I joke with the kids and tell them when they learn to cook I will give them the scoop.
You tell 'em KISH. Neither one of my kids really cooks. On holidays, they always just think..."we'll go to Mom's". Wonder what they're gonna do when one day Mom's not home.
Red's my favorite watermelon, but here in Texas, we do have lots of yellow and orange too. I think red's the sweetest.
The boneless ribs sound delish..wish I had some. I've had cereal the last two nights for dinner. Might really break out tonight and have something adventurous like grilled chicken. Joy.
Let's see....what else? It's hot and steamy here in Big D. No rain in sight.
I'm going to be the only department head at my work tomorrow since all the other bad turds are taking off Friday AND Monday.
I've moaned and whined enough. Maybe I'll drink now.
KISH, do you have a cocktail from time to time? If so, what kind?

Now, Y'all I am from the South, but I must admit however that I've never seen a yellow or orange watermelon. The only yellow is the side of the green rind sitting on the earth. Can Y'all explain the seedless thing? I mean, there's something kinda' special and kid-like spittin' watermelon seeds out......or, like Granny always did, place your slice on a plate and gently remove seeds with a butter knife.
Ever cut a hole in one and pour vodka in it?

LuLu, maybe it's a Texas thing. My grandfather always loved "yellow meat" watermelons. Orange is not so common, but I seem to remember they had all three a couple of years ago when I stopped to get one for Kurt in East Texas. I think the seedless thing is just a misnomer...there really are little seeds in there, they're just not fully developed. At least that's my theory. I'm sure someone will tell you the real scoop.
Yep, done the vodka thing many times back in the day.

DD, when we go out to dinner and I have a cocktail, i like a good Margharita with salt. This only happens a couple of times a year. I am really not a drinker though I do like to have a cold Labatt's when I am cooking on the grill. I can buy a 12 pack and it will last for 4 to 5 months.

Like Lynnie says, there is just something about sitting on the front steps and spitting out the seeds. When I was a kid we used to see who could spit them the farthest.:cool:

I must tell you though, I love watermelon with salt on it. It makes the watermelon juicier. and I am now at 750. HOOO-HOOOOO!!!!

So...let's see....
Have you met anyone from SoWal.com yet?

DD, I met Steele Mama a couple of years ago. I was supposed to meet MK over Christmas a couple of years ago but we never got together. I have had great conversations with KDW and feel like we have been friends for years. It has been 2 years since I have been able to make the trip down so I have to just depend on on-line conversations. I hope your weekend was good.

SM is wonderful, is she not? I don't get to see her nearly enough. (I made my very first Christmas ornament for her!) Heck, I don't get to see any of my buds nearly enough--Darlene being one. I was fortunate enough to see her in April and I loved every minute!!
Hope you get back down to SoWal soon. I had planned a trip in August, but it doesn't look like I'm gonna make it. Maybe in the fall.
Weekend was definitely low key. I watched way too many episodes of Deadliest Catch, but I did clean out the garage too. It's hotter than blazes here already--I saw the forcast for Sunday is 104.
I do love summer, but it's hard on old fat people.
Hmmmm.......what's your favorite sport?
Beach Fanatic
I was a jock in H.S. I played basketball, football and ran track. As I got older I started playing racquetball. I was a tournement player and pretty good. The knees started going and it was just too much stress on the knees so I just played basketball. I coached my boys in grade school and played on a over 30 then 40 league. Now I just shoot around in the back yard since the knees can't take that anymore. It sucks getting old. So now I lift weights but am careful with the knees. I don't do squats but I do leg press and knee curls to keep the joint surrounded bu muscles for stability. If I get stressed, I go down the basement and spend time throwing the weights around. That usually helps.

Another question for ya.....
Pie or cake?
Pie or cake?

Hi Kish. Good luck with your posts. I had fun reaching my first 1000 with this bunch. Now answer DDs question - pie or cake.
Beach Fanatic
That's a tough one! I love homemade banana cake with chocolate frosting but I also love Lemon Meringue pie or peach pie. I will straddle the fence on this one. I love them both. My wife makes banana cake in a 9 x 13 cake pan and I eat 3/4 of the cake in 2 days. The lemon pie will only take me a day to polish it off.

Good answer Kish! Don't let these ladies bully you into choosing the pie or cake camp exclusively. Its part of the secret pie/cake wars that have torn apart South Walton for centuries!;-)😀
I think I have some pumpkin pie left in the fridge...time to go check! lol

For years I have been giving the wenches heck for all of the man bashing. And I know that if you straddle the fence too long you get a sore crotch. But if you put a pillow down first, no problemo!!:rofl::rofl:

Wow, and you like interesting pie and cake to boot! I'm impressed! What about icecream flavors....which do you prefer. And, do you ever skip stones up there?

We skip stones whenever there is a opportunity. We are very close to Lake Erie and my folks have a boat up near Port Clinton so when we are there or at the beach we skip what we can find:clap::clap: Some of the best Lake Erie diving is up near the Islands at the western end of the Lake. Alot of wrecks also.

DD, there are som many of these crazy rules from back when Cleveland was first founded. I think I may have heard about this and I would have to say yes. It is also a law that you have to use a stick at least 1 inch in diameter if you beat your wife.

KISH, this week we will get you to 800.DD, I only have 30 more to go to hit 800. Who would have believed it??

Rats have freedom in Cleveland and there are special rules on spousal abuse. What if rat is a spouse? Hmmmmm.
How hot is there, Kish?
