Man - thanks gang! That's so great of you - and guess what? Last I checked we were in the lead by a few votes!
In my acceptance speech I'll put in a word for SoWal.com Hee hee - just dreamin' but it's fun!

I can't recall ever winning anything worthwhile - anything to promote clean energy in Florida is a passion w/me (I know I can get really nutty about it I am sure some of you are soooo tired of Gidget and her push for solar............. I think my representatives feel the same - OH NO - not HER again. They will probably block my number soon.

Anyway, I just mostly wanted to say thanks for the support!

PS Been living in FL over a year now! Not in SoWal, but we lived in Destin while building. Did anyone else's year seem to fly by?? I just can't believe all that has taken place this past year......

Thanks LVT - it got my OCD going big time to see them cut off the top like that and to cut off one of my sentences that says "we produce more clean energy - than we've used" LOL they left off the "than we've used" which IMO is pretty important to the story! :roll: Basically now I think it will just be a popularity contest.

Sometimes they contact me back with a form letter and sometimes it seems like the letters are original and totally address my point of view - but most often not. I just call or write them back and try and impress upon them - hey THIS is what I'm talkin' about! ;-) Hammer it in their heads so to speak

And, I was quite impressed with almost all of them. The Florida Beach House - I thought he did a great job with that renovation, #2. I loved the Palm Springs, CA home #5, San Diego home # 10, and the Texas Architect #9!!!! Runner up for me is the MO renovation and the Amish Construction Workers - horse and buggy!! Gidget's shows the best construction or at least it is explained the best. Good Luck!

You are so right Lynnie- there are some fab homes with such great inspiring stories.

Just a little note: just got our latest Chelco statement and we once again produced more energy than we used last month - which was a real test in this heat. I credit the ICF with a lot of that and the Mr Slim units! Also, window placement and tankless water heater (which we hardly have to use - the water comes out pretty warm these days doesn't it!)

One more thing that is very interesting. We had them come out to do our Energy Star audit and the house was so well insulated that we were OFF THE CHARTS! It got bumped from the system - the numbers were so low! Anyway, they had to order a special part to use to do the HERS test - and they are coming back next week. Would have been cool to have had the rating before the contest but that's ok. HERS stands for Home Energy Rating Score.
