In my acceptance speech I'll put in a word for SoWal.com Hee hee - just dreamin' but it's fun!

I can't recall ever winning anything worthwhile - anything to promote clean energy in Florida is a passion w/me (I know I can get really nutty about it I am sure some of you are soooo tired of Gidget and her push for solar............. I think my representatives feel the same - OH NO - not HER again. They will probably block my number soon.

Just got in from Tallahassee - goodness I left my computer on all day on SoWal - not like me to forget to turn it off (more on the trip on the other thread and I'll post some photos, etc...) BUT get this. Cali Bamboo on facebook decided to feature the House #1 on their page and all of a sudden that home is in the lead by HUNDREDS of votes! Not fair as once a vote is cast, that's it. So OF COURSE people are going to see this home and vote and then those down the line get looked at but not voted for. (they said they would feature a home a day) I don't think that is fair to the other contestants. Oh well, that's life right :roll:

BUT we can still try to catch up. Thanks for any help - and more about today on another thread.

Yes, they have gone up almost 500 points in ONE day and have gone from like 4th to 1st. They get about 20 votes an hour.....IDK how!

Ok so I figured out that the house that came from 4th to FIRST has a huge network of thousands - I saw them online - so I give them an A+ in networking!

No way we can take back the lead - they get around 10 votes an hour - but maintaining 2nd place would be super!

Oh and The Walton Sun is doing a write up this week on the house - can't wait to read it!! Maybe we can pick up a few more votes too :clap_1:

Of course I had to vote for a fellow ICFer! We have been in this house for three years+ and are still amazed at what a difference the thick walls make. We are predicted to have a week of 100 degree+ days ahead so will see how the electric bill does. And the bamboo floors still look good.

I'll have to track down that neighborhood in Austin and take a look at the model home.

That's great news on your ICF Poodleone! It is amazing how constant the temperature stays in ICF homes - only varies a few degrees. I'd love to see a photo of your bamboo floors - sounds beautiful!
