i disagree. let those folks pay according to their ability. our nation's wealth is controlled by a narrow segment of the few.

Raise the top margin rate to 90% eh? :D Good luck with that.

To answer the question myself, I wouldn't. If withdrawing from Iraq more swiftly and accepting defeat in Afghanistan is a necessary evil to prevent it, I'll accept the outcome. Although I would hope we could omehow avoid declaring defeat.

I'm sure someone from the right could rewrite history, they seem pretty adept at that.

Then, you will agree that the tax cuts implemented by Bush need to cease. Am I correct? And do you also understand what he further said about the top 5% of the rich people in the US have 40 trillion dollars worth of assets, way more than the other 95% combined. Do you think this is healthy for the economy? Do you not think that the uber-rich should be taxed just a little bit more, to , at least, help pay for the wars their administration initiated?

This sentence makes me crazy. Carry on.

Welcome back to the political forum, Miss Kitty. You have been missed. A lot of the post here, make me crazy, even mine when I respond to something I consider ludicrous...but that is what make this forum more interesting than any other.

The Iraq War and the Afghanistan War are the only wars in our history that were, and continue to be, completely funded by borrowed money.

They are also the first wars in history that also saw a tax cut.

No, that's wrong. Kennedy/Johnson implemented the third largest tax cut post WWII during the Vietnam War.

Women couldn't vote.

Blacks couldn't vote.

No one could vote for Senator.

Plus we had a tiny standing army...bye, bye Eglin.

Not to mention the only time that Americans fought Americans costing over 600,000 lives....

Nobody wants their vote negated by another. It's natural to be frustrated. The majority will voice themselves through their vote.

If it's close then we're probably on the right track. If it goes one way in a landslide then I hope the tone changes and everyone comes together.

Not to worry AG, I'm sure that my vote negated yours....

That wasn't a war, it was a police action. ;-)

While I realize you are saying this tongue in cheek, tell it to all the buddies I lost. I doubt, if they could do so, they would find it funny nor would any of the other over 58,000 who gave their lives.

That comment was made on a regular basis by my uncle who was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He lost many friends as well.

Congratulations on picking the winning numbers for the roll back Florida to the 1800's lottery.

The 1800's appear to be dawning:D
