I'm not exactly sure if I was banned, but something happened where it's been very difficult to get to the message boards. It's very slow and I get lots of server busy messages. This only happens with my LS avatar and not the others. It's like the board god has been playing around. Well I've made it this far and I hope this post gets through. Seeing as I now realize that I can easily live with not being able to post, I am tempted to make this post a good one, but I won't do that.

Oh please, we all know this is a right wing biased board. My posts get deleted all the time and Sarah Palin has even registered. We have not one, but two Jesus's that regularly come on and chastise those of us on the left.

These political forums can seem somewhat pointless at times. There's not a lot of changing of minds going on. So I think some folks just get burned out and move on.

For me, none of my friends talk politics and I don't discuss political issues at work so I find the political forums here offer a good outlet. Plus there are some smart people on the board who can offer up alternative viewpoints I've not considered. So it can be educational as well. Also, more importantly, whenever I get into a discussion with someone, I find myself doing a lot of research on the subject. For whatever reason I find that particular aspect of my involvement here very enjoyable.

I agree there's not a lot of changing of minds, but that's pretty common in politics. It usually takes a life altering change or major event to move peoples beliefs. I do find it interesting that even though some of us are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum there are times we come together.

"what's behind this drop? It's entirely possible viewers are simply tiring of the chalkboard and the high rhetoric, which has been notably higher of late. And needless to say Beck is not the phenom he was a year ago, merely by dint of the country becoming more familiar with him.

But it's probably also worth noting, just in the context of this January, that the month was dominated by hard news, in the form of the Giffords shooting.

Glenn Beck is many things but he is not hard news (nor does he generally attempt to be). And considering the nature of the news, perhaps it's not entirely surprising that viewers were clicking away for a while. Sometimes it's nice to be told the world is not ending.

To add insult to injury, now Beck is blathering about Google being in cahoots with the federal government by trying to incite unrest and protests around the world. He wants his listeners to believe the Google-government team want to secretly recruit youth into socialist movements. Is their any question his ratings might falter? There comes a point when even his supporters have to scratch their heads and wonder wth.

there is something more fundamental that may explain Beck's Google bashing. His boss, Rupert Murdoch, has had it in for Google for about a year now. Murdoch believes that Google is appropriating his content and failing to compensate him for it, and he has taken this battle to extremes asking, "Should we be allowing Google to steal all our copyrights?"

Of course, Google is doing no such thing. They are simply aggregating news from many sites across the web. They are providing links to Murdoch's web sites, and others, that actually increase traffic and revenue....."

You know, you are getting more like another poster on this board every day. I chose to ignore him without the ignore button. I will soon do the same in regard to you. I am not a "Glen Beck worshiper" and even if I were, your post is insulting in its reference. If you watched him with any regularity, you would realize he backs up what he says with actual video of the other side saying it. He also continually says "do your own reseach, don't believe me". I do not always agree with him anymore than I always agree with Michelle Bachman or any other Conservative. The narrow mindedness sometimes expressed here is distressing to me. I often wonder if it is to others?

Sorry, but Beck does pull a lot of his data and theories out of his arse - it's part of the reason why he refuses to go on other shows where he will get called on it.
