Beck's Ratings Crater

HELLO AMERICA? Glenn Beck Posts Biggest Ratings Drop Of Any Cable News Show In January

"what's behind this drop? It's entirely possible viewers are simply tiring of the chalkboard and the high rhetoric, which has been notably higher of late. And needless to say Beck is not the phenom he was a year ago, merely by dint of the country becoming more familiar with him.

But it's probably also worth noting, just in the context of this January, that the month was dominated by hard news, in the form of the Giffords shooting.

Glenn Beck is many things but he is not hard news (nor does he generally attempt to be). And considering the nature of the news, perhaps it's not entirely surprising that viewers were clicking away for a while. Sometimes it's nice to be told the world is not ending.

Sorry, but Beck does pull a lot of his data and theories out of his arse - it's part of the reason why he refuses to go on other shows where he will get called on it.
.
And what do you want to bet he won't take this charity (that he maligned) up on their offer to show him what they've done?

Following is a letter by Bill Abrams, President of Trickle Up, in response to Glenn Beck's February 16, 2011, commentary "Three Reasons to Be Wary of Google," in which he criticized Google for supporting Trickle Up.

Dear Mr. Beck,

Thank you, Glenn Beck, for introducing Trickle Up to the millions in your audience. While we assume that your labeling us a "leftist charity" wasn't a compliment, we believe that you - and your audience - would admire what we do, if you got to know us better.

Trickle Up helps end global poverty by helping women start businesses, gain skills and save money. The values that we promote - enterprise, hard work, self-sufficiency - are ones that we would expect you to applaud.

So I invite you to join me on a trip to India, where he would meet Trickle Up participants who are now able to feed their children three meals a day instead of two, buy them their first pair of shoes and send them to school. Or, I'd be glad to show you villages in Guatemala, Mali or other countries where, over the past five years, we have helped more than 45,000 women and their families move up out of extreme poverty.

Trickle Up is supported by thousands of donors - individuals, corporations, foundations and the US government - who share our commitment to reducing poverty and inequality. We are very proud to have Google, the subject of your recent commentary, among them. Mr. Beck, we believe that ending poverty transcends politics and that, if you saw what we do you'd agree with us that lifting a woman out of extreme poverty is important to people on both sides of the political aisle.

My email is abramsw@trickleup.org, so please send me some dates that you'd be free to travel with us, to see how Trickle Up helps end poverty.

Sincerely,

Bill Abrams

President

Trickle Up

Where's the video I spok of? Funny, you post statements from a "truth meter" who's verasity is suspect at best, and expect everyone to buy it. Well, I'm not. What I stated in my post is true. You can either accept it, ignore it or do whatever you wish. To me, it is immaterial and you may be right to believe I stand on higher ground, even though I do not think so. This is the last post of yours I respond to until you begin to make some logical sense to me which I really don't expect in the near future.

:lolabove:
I am almost able to get my brain wrapped around this.

You believe Glenn Beck's paranoid assertions but write off Pulitzer Prize Winner Politifact's verasity as being "suspect at best". And you question the logic/sense of *Poppy's* posts?

Andy, you have a bright future working as an advisor to the Palin/Bachmann campaign!

Glenn Beck telling his target audience to do their own research is like asking Helen Keller to come up with a color scheme.
The only difference is, Helen Keller could probably have done it. She was a magnificent person and a wonderful lady. You, as Jesus, should know that better than most, which causes me to doubt you are really Jesus. Chalk it up to my skeptical nature.

Wow, I didn't realize this thread was so entertaining
Hi Sam, missed ya bunches
Like SWGB not being here, the forum lacked fire and punch,
like a taco without seasoning.

Although, Scooterbug, Poppy, and Geo, were holding up the fort in that category 😀
Probably others too, but I can't think of everyone without having a list of names that I could look at so don't feel left out or insignificant. I like all of you and believe each one of us is vitally important.
I don't like to force personalities into a mold as if there is only one way they express themselves, people are multi-faceted like gemstones.
I do try to say encouraging appropriate things because I also like to hear what people say about me.
If I am combative, it is usually directed at getting to the truth, not at an individual, unless that individual aligns themselves with the determined destruction of humanity.
About Beck, I don't pay any attention to what he says after viewing him once.
Probably more of a neutral whatever not interested thing.
I just always wondered why someone would pay attention to a silly rant anyway.

Fire ratings😱k I'm being silly again, get over it

Scooterbug- campfire
Poppy- artillery fire
Geo- cigar smoking fire
Sam- cave man fire
SWGB- fire and brimstone  jk
fireplace- warm and sweet

Gadhafi is on the news- what a piece of work
Talk about scary- he's out there
That regime needs to be toppled
another thread I know...

Compared to him, Beck looks like a wayward boyscout.

Andy, this is by far the most ridiculous statement you've ever come up with. Please explain how a blind person who never had the ability to see could come up with a color scheme.

I can only imagine that his sincere admiration for Ms. Keller is inextricably tied to her strong advocacy of socialist principles, her founding of the ACLU, her extreme pacifism and opposition to war, and basically her association with extreme leftist causes.

Gee, I didn't know any of that. Am I now suppose to retract what I thought of Helen Keller long ago just because I was wrong? Oh, woe is me. I am once again overwhelmed by misinterpretation and stupidity and bow with utmost humility to the enlightened and intelligence of those on the left.:sarc:

You know, you are getting more like another poster on this board every day. I chose to ignore him without the ignore button. I will soon do the same in regard to you. I am not a "Glen Beck worshiper" and even if I were, your post is insulting in its reference. If you watched him with any regularity, you would realize he backs up what he says with actual video of the other side saying it. He also continually says "do your own reseach, don't believe me". I do not always agree with him anymore than I always agree with Michelle Bachman or any other Conservative. The narrow mindedness sometimes expressed here is distressing to me. I often wonder if it is to others?

Funny I've never associated the adoption of extreme leftism and extreme pacifism together. Usually the two events are mutually exclusive.

Yeah you should retract it or grow a pair and admit you were wrong.

Helen Keller was gazillion times bigger Socialist than....President Obama.

Helen Keller - Why I became an IWW | Industrial Workers of the World

As it stands you lavished praise on the great American Socialist Helen Keller.

Don't let the Tea Party folks find out.

You won't be invited to their reindeer games.
