I want to tell each of you thank you for the warm wishes, advice and prayers for Daddy. He was determined to fight the cancer full on and be at his grandaughters wedding. However the growth of the cancer was outdistancing the chemo. He was horribly ill and the tumor has grown out of control. They have stopped all treatments and hospice tells us he could be gone in a day or 2. They don't think it will be longer than a week or so.
We are blessed that he's home and we've got this time with him. I was able to climb up in bed with him, laugh, cry and talk. He's constantly patting my arm and rubbing my hair. (Still worrying about us.) His sense of humor is still there. He's so strong emotionally. Daddy's very gracious in the face of this and I am so proud of him. I wish you all could have known him, he's so amazing.
I won't be here, but I know you will remember us. Jen-ay I have those numbers and will call if I need anything. If you don't hear from me you'll know we are ok. I'll look forward to having a drink with you and sharing our Daddy stories.
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and your friendship.
I'll be back when I can to catch up on Ms Kittys wit, find out how the beach looks, hear about Audie's tan and enjoy all the Funn y'all bring to my day.

Cheering, I've been wondering but did not want to press because I know we are your outlet. Thank you for the update and I am sending up prayers for you through these tears. Daddys are very special, mine is 79 and I just love him so so much. Remember nothing can ever take away your memories. When you think you just can't take any more, go to your bible and read Phillipians 4:13.
We love you, we're praying for you...... and we are here for you.....

I was just thinking of him yesterday, Lynne, and wondering about him. Thank you for updating. At times like this, I always pray for peace in the midst of a hard time, so that's what I'll be praying for you.
Thoughts, hugs and prayers, friend.

Lynne, as I read your post I was at first very sad and filled with grief for you and your family. But then as I read on, I felt the love so strong that you have for your sweet daddy. You are and inspiration to me, because I know one day I will face the same thing with my sweet daddy. You are a very special person and I am wishing also for peace and comfort for you and your family. We are here for you when you need us Lynne. Take care and God Bless you all!!!!
No news. My sister gave me a break, so I came home to sleep. But
it isn't happening. I knew y'all would make me smile so here I am.
Thanks to each of you for thinking of me. (I knew that verse right away BC, it's one of my favorites) I'll try to check in before the week ends depending on how he's doing and if I can get away. If nothing changes with him I may just lurk and run without posting. Speaking of lurkers I noticed Shelly was on when I signed on. Someone tell Cork.
I wish mom & daddy had a computer, it'd be a nice break while there. He's in and out of it and there are so many people wanting to be near him we take turns at his side. Having too many people around him at once seems to disturb him. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. The 5 of us all want to be with him. Daddy has 15 grandchildren from the ages 30 to 8 and they are all crazy about him too. Trying to give everyone a chance to say goodbye when Daddy is awake like being an air traffic controller at O'Hare. I may have to put up those velvet ropes they have at the movies for crowd controil. Since I'm not sleeping anyway I think I'll go back over there, they have some comfy recliners.
I have to try to read a few posts first, I don't want to get behind. ;-) Besides knowing y'all, there is a laugh waiting for me.
Thanks again, all of you are very special. Talk to you soon.

I was thinking about your dad, you, and your family as well these past few weeks. He sounds like such a gracious man, and you and your family are giving him so much love that will carry him through his journey. I found a poem that helped us so much during my Mom's last days. I hope you find it as sweet as we did (I guess boats are considered "she" but the point works well for men and women!). And remember to take good care of yourself, too.
I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning
breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch her
until at length she is only a
speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky meet
and mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side exclaims,
?There, she?s gone!?
Gone where? Gone from my side, that is all.
She is just as large in hull and mast and spar as she was
when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of
living freight to the place of her destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says
?She?s gone?
there are other eyes watching for her coming
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,
?There she comes!?
