France believes there is enough support at the U.N. Security Council to pass a resolution on Libya on Thursday and military intervention could take place within hours of that, senior French diplomatic sources said.

Any action could include France, Britain, possibly the United States and one or more Arab states, the source said.

"It would be surprising if there was a veto from one of the permanent members. We are convinced we have the nine votes," one source told reporters. "Once the resolution is voted, an operation could start within several hours."

This is exactly what Obama said he was going to do. Go look at the clip of him stating that energy prices would skyrocket under his leadership before the election. Now it's an economic threat?

If we bought them on credit, they are paid for. What we owe is the interest, and you're right...its killing us, along with all the other things we "own" on credit.

No.

Credit = debt
Interest = mounting interest on that debt

They aren't paid for until we have a zero deficit.

And 6 hours of military action in Libya = 1 billion dollars.

MMF, This analogy poses excellent food-for- thought as to the definitions of "neighbor", "proximity", and "justification".

I'm undoubtedly getting old, cynical, and cranky... but IMHO the 'language' associated with globalization de-volved into the downright ridonkulous, superficial, and disingenuous.

The use of the term "ridonkulous" with that kind of comfortable, easy flow automatically places you in the hip youngster category. So actually you're getting young, cynical, and cranky

the economy and entitlements are killing us okie, not the interest

This whole Libya thing is a complete disaster. Every single bad decision leads straight to the top: Five days that started with a coalition war without a coalition approved only by the U.N.. For what? To prove somebody had balls. Skip the Congress because you know you won't get the approval and time is running out to show you're a tough guy because you doodled. Then a romp off to Brazil to pretend like it's nothing to worry about. No press, no announcement, no news. "I like Brazil, so do the kids!" Come back and whoa! Doors are locked! Your numbers are plummeting and the liberal media have turned on you! Quick, alert! 2012! Call Hillary! Get yourself out of this! NATO take over, please!

"No Fly Zone Plus", courtesy of NATO.

In a few days somebody will realize the American people don't look kindly on leaders who quit and run because of bad numbers and bad press.

Obama doesn't get it. Libya is his presidency in a 7 day nutshell.

He's a one termer. There I said it.

Naaaah - just grab a hammer and whack yourself over the head a few times. It'll leave you feeling a lot better than watching an hour of news and it saves you from throwing things at your t.v.

"update" us? That implies we were initially informed, which we weren't.

ABC News: US Picking Up Tab for Libya?

Article on the ABC News site today called "US Picking Up Tab for Libya?"

I'm not going to bother quoting from it. The title says it all.

Wait wait, you're defending him on Libya aren't you. Now where have I seen blind defense of the antics of a war mongering president before.. hmm, it was a fairly recent affair if I remember correctly...

No no, I'm not. You will not find where I have ever defended war. Do not attempt to interpret my posts.

I think we've been kept pretty well informed on Libya.

We don't agree with what is happening, but it hasn't been a secret.
