JB, I had that exact mental picture of Kathy going on in my mind.

From what I understand it was sold awhile ago to Abbott/Resort Quest. That is why it is under their rental mgt company. You will see their signs as you pull in or on 30-A. Hope this is correct for KD's sake especially!!

It was my understanding that Bill Abbott owned Seagrove Villas. You may be thinking about the owner of the Wheelhouse Restaurant passing away.

When Bill sold Abbott Realty years ago, the two properties he kept were the Seagrove Villas and Henderson Park Inn.

Bill is very much alive as far as I know. I heard this information from his office a few weeks ago.

I think you're right. I believe the guy who owned the Wheelhouse also owned the cottages on the property. That's probably what confused me. Either way, you now have at least two people who are dying to know what the future holds for this last little piece of Old Florida.

If you have a contact there, and live in the area, it would be appreciated if you could find out what lies ahead for the property.

You are so right SJ. You know we cherished every day at Silver Beach in Destin before they tore it down and put up a big huge freaking condo building. I am thankful that at least if the Villa's do get sold at least maybe there won't be a huge building there because of the building codes!!!!

My sisters and I stayed their in April and I found a room key in my beach bag so I do need to go by there and return it two months later!

Didn't Abbott sell Henderson Park last year

When Bill Abbott sold Abbott Realty, the two properties he kept were Henderson Park Inn and Seagrove Villas.

He has a contract, like many others, with Abbott / Resorts Quest to handle the reservations. Both places you can reserve directly with them, but Abbott/ResortsQuest are only the rental agents.

I believe a condo will be replacing it. But, I'll find out more in the next few days.

FINALLY found out. Saw Bill Abbott at lunch today. He said he thought it was going to be turned into some type of beach club affiliated with Rick Olsen's development, Nature's Walk.

Said he wouldn't carve it in stone, but that is what he thought.

Do we have to keeping bringing up this sad, sad news. You know it is Friday, and I was planning on having such a good day. You sure know how to be a debbie downer yippie. ;-) Seriously though, I am sad that the Villa's have been sold and will be replaced with something else. My only hope that whatever replaces them will be in good taste. What I mean by that is, not some huge obtrusive building. Oh, well we shall see. Now, I am going to make it a good day in spite of reading about my beloved Villa's being sold, yet again!!!!
