I certainly think this photo is the female equivalent of a fat man wearing a speedo. Ridiculous indeed. No one with THAT body should wear THAT dress, much less have some kind of serious photo shoot while wearing it.
We are all so lucky to be members of The Beautiful People Club, right?

I say good for her for being confident. :clap_1: Remember, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. To someone I am sure she is beautiful.

Y'all know me. I'm an equal opportunity offender ;-)

No beauty here. If I wore a speedo (or swimwear by Hormel as I call it), people would run screaming from the beach and would be permanently traumatized as a result.

BUT, if I posed for serious photos in it, acting like I am a freaking male model, I would expect to be publicly ridiculed.

Im with you all. (Johnrudy, Audie)I guess we should all be modeling in NYC by now since we are so critical of a person getting her picture taken. If she wasn't standing on the dunes I would put my Speedo on(first I would have to buy one) and go stand beside her. You all have no idea what her deal is. I cant believe Im hearing such judgment on this site. She is a large women along with most of the country.
Its not really good enough for you all to keep you comment to yourself. What bother me is you really feel that way. She may be heavy but she is just like you and me. A person with pride and feeling. Leave her alone and take a look in the mirror.

It's just a really funny looking photo. it has nothing to do with how she looks. But she's standing there in the dunes with her arms straight down looking like a zombie or something strange. It's just one of those photos that captures a very funny second which happens to be in the dunes. we have all had similar pictures taken of ourselves - and you look at and go "that is NOT me - I do not have a butt on my stomach in real life!". nothing wrong with laughing at a photo. you should see the doggy style couple in the dunes photo. OMB - talk about a moment frozen in time...:floor:

You know, I always thought the same thing... it seems if one does have a different opinion & not in the majority, you get admonished in a public forum or receive a tongue-lashing & lecture. I'm learning to keep my thoughts to myself or at least, add one of the smilies next to my comments. That seems to help "cya".

No, SJ, the only time you make fun of a photo is when there's ridiculous or inconsiderate behavior somewhere in there...never for looks.

Unless they're wearing Speedos.

Which of course falls into the category of ridiculous or inconsiderate behavior. ;-)
Right! wearing Speedos doesn't classify anyone as ugly or fat.

Doesn't standing in the middle of a dune constitute inconsiderate behavior? :idontno:

That's all I'm going to say about that. It doesn't excuse my comment, I know
Yes and no. You are correct.

Correct. It either means they are swimming in the Olympics, or they have a TON of self confidence coupled with terrible taste in beachwear.

And if my opinion on Speedos is offensive to someone, I don't give a rat's a$$. After all, it is an just an opinion on Speedos, posted on a message board. It doesn't have to be turned into a lecture on anything.

I don't mind doing it face to face when called for and given the opportunity. I thought I was the one going against the grain in this discussion. From what I have read on this board in the past, there are plenty of people on this board bashing fat people. What if this girl had one arm? You guys gonna bust her on that one too? We live in a cruel society and we often are looking in the mirror when we are talking about other people. So if you want to bash yourself for being overweight, do something about it, rather than moaning about the other fat people in the world. I am no skinny kid and my friends come in all shapes, colors and sizes.

So are you saying that I shouldn't purchase the Mighty Tighties for my next swimsuit? Gosh! I was just gaining the self confidence to wear one, and my belly won't hang over too much. :funn:

Or it means they've come here from "across the pond" as did Merman. He arrived in this country with one of those things. It was dark green polyester. He didn't look very attractive in it. It was replaced in no short order with some American swim trunks, the kind he could wear in public without everyone exploding in laughter at the sight of him.

I don't like Speedos. I never know where to look when a guy's wearing one of those things. Well, actually, I know where I do look and it has nothing to do with where I ought to look.

If you choose to go down the Speedo path, be prepared for getting YOUR pic posted on SoWal!!

There would probably be more money paid for a pic of you wearing a Speedo on the beach than for a pic of Brangelina' s kid!!!!:floor:
