We have mayoral elections in our town next week. I'm not wild about either candidate. We're about the only people in our neighborhood without a sign in our front yard indicating our candidate of choice. So I made the sign below. Nobody gets it. My husband is annoyed by it. I think it's hilarious.

Yeah, but people in this town are so conservative that they really don't get it. Someone asked me if I was trying to make a political statement about Hispanics. Please! I just like that sweet movie! GOSH! BTW they've never heard of the movie.

Saw it 4 times in the theater, and I never see a movie more than once in the theater.

I don't think there's a whole lot to "get" about it. Love those guys who run the chicken farm. Whenever I see Napoleon gag on that egg drink, I lose it.

When Napoleon slaps Kip when Deb is at the door with her caboodles...

And what about the sweet scene at the end? The tetherball game, the delicious bass, the song--perfect!

They already know that I'm a non-conformist after the Opal incident when my neighbor wouldn't let the power crews access the line to restore our power (blocked on our side because of many downed trees) because it would ruin her sod that was already torn up by a few downed trees in her yard. It resulted in us beng without power for a week instead of a day. So I sat in the front yard and yelled "Eff!" about a hundred times. Women aren't supposed to say that word in this town. My friends are the few women in this town who wouldn't have a heart attack if I said that.

So the sign probably doesn't surprise them.
