I have been away from the board for a week, this is the first time I am really able to handle what has happened....my husbands youngest sister Janelle passed away on Sunday very suddenly, she was only 38 years old. She had a major hemmorage in her brain and went into cardiac arrest last wednesday, the wonderful staff at Barnes hospital did the best they could but in the end Janelle was pronounced brain dead at 11:30 am on Sunday. I belive strongly in the power of prayer and I am asking all of you from the bottom of my heart to pray for my husbands family, the five siblings and one dear husband that Janelle has left behind. We need all the strength we can get to make it through tomorrow and Thursday. God bless you all:wub:

Ohymygosh Seagrovelover....she isn't by any chance the 38 year old teacher who's photo and obit was in the paper, is she? Yesterday evening I was reading the paper and usually just glance at the obits, but there was a photo of a young woman along with her obituary and it struck me as so sad not only because she was so young, but because it sounded like she was a much-loved teacher at a local school. Today at lunch I went to take flowers to my dad's grave, as it's been 5 years since he passed away. As I was preparing to make my turn off of Mackenzie Road, a long funeral procession was turning into the cemetery from the other direction. It reminded me of my dad's funeral procession 5 years ago, and of us driving into the cemetery on a sunny day just like today. My heart went out to the family. When I just read your message, I went back to the obits and noticed that the woman is being laid to rest at the same cemetery as my dad! It must have been the funeral procession that I saw earlier!

I am so very sorry for you and your family. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but it's even more so when that person is so young. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Yes, that was her. It was very sad. The funeral was beautiful though, alot of people were there to celebrate her life and support her family.

THANK YOU to everyone who left a kind message on this post, belive it or not it really does help.....a special thanks to Smiling Joe and Kathydwells...you both are truly loving and you touched my heart . This was by far the toughest thing that I have ever been through, my husband is still lost, and my kids have lost their laughter and joy(I know time will heal us all) Janelle was so special....2481 people came to the funeral home to share their love and stories of Janelle with us, and the church was standing room only!! she would have been so happy, that girl loved a good party!! LUVTHEBEACH that was us you saw I am certain, Ressurection cemetary, I belive we were about a three mile long procession, it was just unreal. We found out the other day that people were posting messages about Janelle on www.stltoday.com, we are truly overwhelmed by all the lives that she touched in the 15 years she taught grade school....all the children lined the steps up to the church to honor her, it was so beautiful......Janelle Darmody.....she is my inspiration to be a better person..........thanks again for all the sowal love

KTSCHRIS you are my rock...I could have NEVER gone through this without your help and friendship......I will always remember how you were there for me night or day.....

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I know that this is going to be a very hard time for your family, and hope that you can all pull together and get each other through this.
My mother, ironically, had a cerebral hemorrhage (aneurysm rupture) at nearly the same age (she was 37), in 1981. She survived it (VERY barely) but has had a looooong road to recovery, and still has many problems even after 25 years. These things are incredibly devastating, no matter the outcome.
Anyway, I'll be sure to remember your family in my prayers, and hope that the coming days/weeks/months can bring you some peace.
