I will have to take your word for it, because one-note libs know far more about what happens
on Fox and Rush than intelligent Americans of any ideology, but it's fun to watch you dismiss
the first ever Ebola case in the US as a over hyped Fox conspiracy. Stay predictable, it's charming

Is anyone really shocked that Texas is ground zero?

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more rightwing insanity. Remember when the blonde news Barbie on Fox and Friends linked the NFL scandal to Benghazi? To use a Bushism, never misunderestimate the stupidity on Fox News.
It didn't take long for a Fox News contributor to link President Obama (albeit sarcastically) to the news that a patient in Texas had been diagnosed Tuesday with the first case of Ebola in the United States.http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/fox-contributor-sarcastically-links-obama-ebola

Texas and Florida stole California ' s official WTF title years ago. If it is hard to believe it happens in Texas or here and I am from Texas. The news there shouldn't be called "action" news or "local" news it should be called "no kidding this really happened" news.

I'll have to remember to watch Souhpark tonight. The title is "Gluten Free Ebola"

Everything is fine! We are sending 3000 troops to Africa to help combat the Ebola epidemic. Now tell me, being an ex military man how you are going to keep some of those 3000 troops from fratrenizing with the local populace, thereby promoting the risk of exposure to the disease? It is bad enough we put our military in harm's way due to combat but now we are doing it for purely unknown reasons and certainly not due to weapons. Please someone give me a cogent answer.

Well just because you couldn't keep it in your shorts in the prescence of disease ridden members of the opposite sex....

No matter what you read in chain e-mails, the entire populace of the region is not infected with Ebola. The US was asked for assistance to help contain it's spread and it was granted.
This is a list of the objectives for our troops.
- Train as many as 500 health care workers a week.
- Erect 17 heath care facilities in the region with 100 beds each.
- Set up a joint command headquartered in Monrovia, Liberia, to coordinate between US and international relief efforts.
- Provide home health care kits to hundreds of thousands of households, including 50,000 that the US Agency for International Development will deliver to Liberia this week.
- Carry out a home- and community-based campaign to train local populations on how to handle exposed
patients.
I realize it's a tall order for it to be as successful as forced democracy at gunpoint, but I'm sure they will give it their best effort. If we're lucky it will produce another Dr. Gorgas.

I'd certainly like to hear the opinions of others than the two ultra liberal prevalent on this board. As for you, Leader of the Banned, obviously you understand what I was talking about from previous experience. Can't say the same for me.

I don't know, we went into Iraq for purely unknown reasons and you're griping about our military performing a duty for which the purpose is painfully obvious. I suppose the humanitarian effort in Haiti was senseless and without purpose as well.

The circle as grown from 1. One family member also ill. EMT's have been isolated. First patient apparently went to several elementary schools.
Now back to your pointless political arguments.

Texas did say they wanted to secede. Maybe this would be a good time.

You are right, not looking too good. What was really disturbing was the guy went to the ER Sunday, apparently told them he was from Liberia, and they gave him antibiotics and sent him on his way and didn't report it to the CDC. Of course his sister he was visiting has five or six school aged kids.
Governor Perry said the patient was in contact with multiple children, luckily he was not one of them.

Yep. All the administrators in the world can say "we have it under control" but one dumb "nurse" can forget to tell anyone the guy just came from Liberia, and it starts...

I read there is only one confirmed case and family members are being monitored. Please provide a link so I can get back to my pointless arguing, we're wasting time here.

The head of the CDC was tap dancing with ole Sanjay on CNN. I hope the head of the CDC is more competent than the head of the Secret Service.

If each of the 80 contacted people also contacted 80 people over 4 days that's 6400 and Ebola incubates 21 days at max. Do the rest of the math. FYI last night reported quarantined patience in Honolulu.

They were talking about ebola on The Weather Channel. The Weather Channel?? It IS owned by NBC, so that explains a lot.

Did all 80 people come in contact with his body fluids? If not, this will severely skew your math.

Someone needs to ask recently indicted Rick Perry why he allowed a man with Ebola to enter Texas.
