Sorry, it's probably obvious, but what are they building at Grand Blvd in front of the christmas trees - CVS? Walgreens? I should know by the design but I drove by too fast.

Gotta say that Publix beats most of the sub chains when it comes to a nice deli sandwich.

I tend to regard Chipotle as a safe, if a bit bland pick if neither Urbanspoon nor Yelp turn up anything interesting when I'm on the road, but really prefer Tijuana Flats for my chain counter service Mexican.

I have to admit I don't understand anything you you said. I have lived in south Walton a long time. I understand there is a need for fast food franchises almost everywhere . There is need, in this vicinity, to not be like every other place... Yes?

Totally agree on the Publix for a sub bit. They meat they use is so much better. Beach Runner, you might find the linked article interesting. I know I did. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/shane-l-windmeyer/dan-cathy-chick-fil-a_b_2564379.html
Very enlightening article, just Goes to Prove that all posters ( myself included) should investigate info before just reacting to all the "For Commercial Money Only " news outlets.....thanks m1a1mg.......rarely is the REAL news posted as a headline...#truthdoesnotsell

Nice article. Good for Chik Fil A by standing by what they believe regardless of what society thinks, they don't cram it down people's throats and they are upstanding corporate citizens. If you don't like what they believe in, don't go there. They have an opinion and everyone else has theirs. Personally I don't like their food, but I respect what they do.

Thanks for sharing that article. Very good read! I always felt that Chic Filet had the best interest of their employees at heart. I don't really care about their personal "values"... and when all the previous anti-gay marriage hit the fan, I was pretty sure then it was fueled by the likes of Huckabee, etc. And I really don't care what they think in the least.

I've always heard good things about Chic Filet as a corporation and employer.

I have no doubt he is a nice man, but later that same year when the SCOTUS struck down DOMA Mr. Cathy tweeted, "Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies."
I agree people have a choice of where to spend their money and many choose not to spend it at Chic-Fil-A because of the strong anti-gay stance. America will progress as it always does and leave Dan Cathy and others like him behind just as it did with the Civil Rights Act in the 1960's.

I've never been to Chick Fil-A. For many years it was for no particular reason. I knew nothing of the antiquated views coming from their top brass. If they had stayed out of religion and politics, I probably would have checked the place out just out of curiousity, even though I'v pretty much given up fast food. I'm no longer curious. If an establishment acquires a bad vibe, it sticks, and people will avoid it.

I'm just speaking for a certain segment of the population. I realize that they don't need to expand their target market in order to be very successful, and that they can get away with alienating a segment of the public. I also don't need to expand my restaurant options in order to get a good delicious meal. It's perfectly reasonable and practical for some of us to avoid Chik Fil-A like the plague.

Hilarious, simply because I find your impotence at harming their bottom line, simply because they disagree with your ideology, to be hilarious, doesn't mean I even eat there. typical petulant response on your behalf however. This is about butthurt alright, but not mine nor theirs...

I gave no indication of intent to harm them financially. The context of the discussion was about personal choice. I personally choose not to patronize their establishment. I never have, and most likely never will. If you want to read more into it than that, knock yourself out.

Why is it so hard for some to comprehend it isn't about affecting their sales. It is about a personal choice of where to spend one's money. Besides, if you were trying to harm them financially you would only need to borrow from the rightwing play book and refer to them as Freedom-Fil-A.

I certainly don't think I'm sacrificing my quality of life by limiting my chicken options by avoiding establishments with a creepy cult-like following.

I think we should look at the overall value of fried chicken in general, whether it is served by a punk or a preacher. Who harms more people Chik Fil A and their values, or KFC and Popeye's to the health care system? You may avoid going to one chain, but you are paying for someone's cardiologist bill for going to another.

Who said those avoiding Chic-fil-A are buying fried chicken instead? Don't these other fast food chains also sell grilled chicken sandwiches?

Publix stubbornly refuses to support the Fair Food Program.
