Pet Peeves, Vol. 2

It's been a while since we've talked about our pet peeves, and I think of new ones all the time. Today, it was..

Subway. (Trying to eat healthy). Man in front of me ordering 5 different sandwiches. Bless his heart, he had a list. Man orders 5 drinks too. I order my stuff. The sandwich makers get my stuff mixed up with his. Soooo, they have to unwrap all the sandwiches. :bang: THEN, this skinny wench comes in with 4 kids. BEFORE she even orders, she grabs 4 cups and those kids proceed to cut in front of the poor 5 sandwich man, who's now trying to get his 5 drinks. :bang: And, I'm still behind him. Now, I didn't care so much for myself, but that poor man! So that's my 2 pet peeves: food people who can't keep orders straight, and kids that have no manners!

(me) "pardon me."

Then, they repeated themselves, "we just want to tell you why we think the Bible is true."

(me) "I'm just trying to enjoy my day.:bang:"

gee you were nicer than i would have been :D

Here's a good one. People in front of you stopped at a red light. They keep creeping forward every few seconds like they are ready to go. So... when the light changes to green, nothing. They JUST SIT THERE!!!

ARRRRRGH!!!! :bang:

maybe they were just trying to conserve gas an avoid a quick start :funn:

*another peeve*

When I am walking to my car (this has happened like 10+ times) and some person comes up and says something about how their car ran out of gas, kids with them and they are from out of town etc.- can I give them $20- they swear they'll send me the money as soon as they get home...

Ok-
1. If you're going out of town, you should have money. period.
2. So you left your 3 small kids alone in a dead car?
3. Why are you here next to Best Buy instead of begging at a gas station?
4. My tank costs $50+ a tank- please tell me what wonder car can make it out of town on $20- I need one of those...

annoyed.

that's scary ! i have never had this happen around here, but i would be tempted to call the police if it did. it's sad to say, but you just can't trust anybody.

on a side note - why leave the kids in the car ? i would have brought them with me. i would be more tempted to give a stranger money if i saw kids there....

Oh, I'm sure there was no dead car or kids. Sad to say but I am so used to seeing people beg for money that I have learned:
1. Look straight ahead
2. Don't EVER look at them
3. Walk briskly
4. IGNORE

So sad, because I really wouldn't mind helping out the occasion homeless person but the ones in Atlanta are corrupt, I swear. My uncle once saw a guy with a "will work for food" sign and he had just bought a ton of food and he gave the guy a hotdog or burger or something and the guy yelled at him and threw it on the ground. My uncle was even more shocked as he kept an eye on the "homeless" guy and he ran across the street and jumped in a Mercedes. :yikes:
I guess the homeless in the city can make alot of money if you run the right corner...

people who splash on after shave and fail to wash their hands before shaking the hands of other people who don't want to smell like someone else's aftershave. :bang: If I wanted to smell like your aftershave, I would have bought it myself. Thanks! @$$hole.

Well, don't park south of Pack Square in dowtown Asheville. Usually, they get to your car before you even step out, which can be quite intimidating. You don't know if they are high on crack and ready to phuk you up, or if they are simply going to ask for change. There first question is ALWAYS, "Can I ax you a question." My answer is ALWAYS, "you just did. Do you want to ask me a second question?" It usually lets them know that I know their game. They will usually get out the second question about needing the gas or bond money for their friend who is in jail, but I never think about giving them any money.

Once we were parallel parking downtown to go to the Clairmont Lounge (an ATL tradition, ask for Blondie!) and this homeless guy was "helping" the driver park. Which, btw, he didn't need help with. So when we all get out of the car the guy asks for a tip for helping us park. One of the girls was already tipsy- she reached into her pocket and says "OH, I have the best tip ever." Then she reached into her pocket, pulled out a recipe and proceeded to read the intructions for a really good recipe. This was the first time I'd ever seen a homeless guy look at us like we were on crack. It was brilliant.

New Pet Peeve...

My goofy new neighbor who:

1. throws his lava rocks in my pool. :idontno:
and this next one kills me...
2. cuts his friggin grass at 7:00 on Saturday morning.

He doesn't work (permanant disability for a bad back), yet always cuts his grass on Saturday morning when I'm sleeping rather than a week day when I've gone to work.:bang: My daughter says it's because the Social Security fraud inspectors don't work on Saturday so he can cut grass and not be seen.

Dog owners who don't control or pick up after their dogs!

The fact that you forgot a leash when packing and your dog doesn't listen to you (actual excuses given) does NOT excuse your precious bit o' yippy dryer lint peeing on my walkway and roaming through my garden!

Oh yeah, very inconsiderate. This lady was doing that all over our complexes yard too. Giant ones too.:yikes: She was smiling, waving, talking to everybody and no one said nothin'., thinkin' she's all that. What a PIA. I was sure about to run my big trap, in a nice way of course, ;-) but hubbabubba said no don't. :idontno: Meanwhile everyone has to look at their huge turds every time they walk out the door the entire weekend 'til they went back to the sheeethole they came from. Goodness the buttitch was old enough, mid-40ish, to know way better. Come to find out she was the grown daughter and her family staying at her folks unit. That was enough to make me start lookin' for a house instead of my townhouse which I do  . It's just who needs the sheeet. We're always pickin' up other's turds and it does get a little old. How could people just leave it  If she got in our hard-worked flower bed I am skeered I woulda had to go off a little. :nono1: :banned: :whack: It's hard to keep stuff nice when others don't give a dang about your hard work. :bang:

When I am at work, helping a customer, and they throw their money on the counter instead of putting it in my hand like a respectful person would do. Yes, I am here to serve you, but I am in no way a lesser being. Learn some manners and put the money in your cashier's hand instead of throwing it at them.

When I am waiting oh so patiently for a decision on a job offer and after a month they say it will be "by the end of this week or the beginning of next week." Then it's Friday of "next week" and everyone and their uncle is calling to see if you got the job and are moving to paradise (oh SoWal, how you taunt me)... and you still don't know. :idontno:

I am going crazy. I am organizing my whole house and refinishing 3 pieces of furniture just to keep me occupied! AAAAHHH! :bang:

this one really burned me up...

over the weekend we had a young girl (about 20 i would guess) come and get her prescription filled. she was very rude and hateful. after she left my tech was going out to deliver some meds and saw a wallet laying on the ledge outside the pharmacy window. she brought the wallet in and we opened it up to see who it belonged to. there was over $800 in twenty dollar bills in there and about 20 credit cards - money was bursting out all over (we had to count it to document how much was in it when it was found for security) the emergency room was finally able to get ahold of the girl and tell her the wallet was found. she comes back to pick it up, i gave it to her and she just gave me this mean look. then she proceeds to take the money out and counts it, like i am a thief or something. as she walked off, i said to her "you're welcome" and she turned around and looked at me and said "whatever". oh my god i saw red !

i was stunned that she was so rude - had that been me i would have been so thankful someone honest found the wallet that i would probably have been hugging people. my tech said the credit cards and money were probably all stolen and the chick was afraid she was gonna be busted. could be - we didn't look at the names on the cards....
