You wouldn't have been asked to take on these responsibilities if somewhere someone didn't have high hopes in your abilities. You wouldn't have volunteered for these responsibilities if somewhere in yourself you didn't have some subconscious level of high hope in your abilities.

One day at a time and don't be afraid to ask for help!! People will always be helpful if you just ask for it. For us to move here, my husband had to "move" here 7 months ahead of me with a 5 month old, a 7 yr. old and 10 yr. old, and a full time job. You learn that you are stronger than you think and that your friends are more special. You'll appreciate him that much more when he gets home and gives you that well deserved ???

I'll admit that being responsible for all of this is stressful. At my daughter's request, for her 10th birthday I took an SUV load of her friends to see Cats. It was below 20 degrees outside, and the TV weathermen were saying not to go outside. Well, we at least had to walk from the parking lot to The Fox. I got so stressed out about being responsible for that many kids that I had the second migraine in my life (the first was when I was in the hospital for two months before my daughter was born because I went into early labor). I went virtually totally blind. During intermission the girls wanted to go to the restroom. I just held onto my daughter and she led the way -- I didn't tell the kids because I didn't want to scare them. Thankfully the migraine went away in about 30 minutes. I was so scared about the hassle of getting us all home if the migraine had continued.

During my wonderful time alone, I too had to put on a birthday party for my then 11 yr. old daughter. Had the BRIGHT idea to let them decorate cupcakes and paint.....well, cupcakes turned into a food fight with icing all over 10 little girls, as well as my yard, porch, pool and anywhere else they could get it (I dared them to go inside!!) And then it was time to paint.....

Really????Yes, eventually.
For the first time in 15 years, I'm FINALLY doing something that wasn't for the family or exercizing or shopping or even meeting a friend for coffee, etc., but just completely for ME - a watercolor painting class. I never thought that day would ever come but it has.
So those of you with young children, this is just a temporary situation. And like BR said, it all happens so, so fast.
Hang in there and reap the rewards of a job well done!!

Pea, you my dear are a strong in charge woman. One day in the not to distant future, your kids will be telling their kids what an awesome Mom their Grana was! ;-)
Take it from me. It goes by that fast.

Pea...if you need an activity for the kids tonight....the game comes on at 7:15. You could make them all cheer!!!!! Oh yeah, beer helps :clap_1:
Our Fall Fest is tomorrow too. I'll be up at school from 10 until well after midnight. I had to sell my tickets to tomorrows game because I'm running game booths and then selling pizza in the evening!!!
It's nice to get envolved, but if your school is anything like mine, its always the same 30 or so people who do everything
I have to admit, that does get old, but the rewards I get out of it tend to outweigh the headaches....eventually.
Sunday will be a day of rest until 5 or so, then we are off to the game :clap_1:
Seriously, make them all watch and cheer tonight! GO CARDS!!!

You guys are great pep talkers! :clap_1:
Kitty, I've never forgotten you telling me about the 3-week trip; it's what I remind myself every time Mr. P goes out of town.
The 10:53 p.m. update is the festival went well, our work in the kitchen paid off beyond what we even anticipated; a great surprise!
The girls are very much awake at the moment, must have been because I washed everyone's hair...
All the girls went to a booth at the festival where they got their hair sprayed all kinds of crazy colors and styled into crazy ponytails and such. Then they promptly arrived here and decided it was too awful to keep, so I got to play shampoo girl for 6 girls.
Anyway, it's all good.
JR, so excited for the 4th--can't wait!

sorry pea, but i think you may be crazy !!!;-)audie, how right you are. But...I was able to regain some of my sanity because I have been alone in the house since yesterday. No kids, only the dog. When I told Jenay last night, she got so jealous I think she got mad at me!

Pea, I want to tell you that I can relate since I get too caught up in school activities much of the time. but I have one kid compared to your 4 so I'll just be quiet.
(I was raised in a family of 4 kids, does that count? it was chaotic but wonderful at the same time).

This is the first year I have a couple of days when everyone is at school, so I've made an effort to do more. What was that I was saying earlier about a love/hate relationship...?
