Rumor has it that release of the first doctored transcript was Bill Barr's idea. Trump never really read it well enough to comprehend the incriminating content. He assumed that Barr wouldn't throw him under the bus. Guess again. Supposedly he is pissed at Barr for talking him into releasing this "perfect" transcript, as well as one other thing. He is really angry that Barr won't come out and make a public statement that Trump has done no wrong with respect to Ukraine. I don't think Barr knew what he was getting into. He thought he was just brought on to help Trump wade through the Mueller probe. It seems that as soon as Trump felt Mueller exonerated him, he jumped right in on extorting Ukraine.

I think he was all in and may still be. Remember, he did not hesitate to go on a world tour to lend credence to a conspiracy theory designed to discredit our intelligence agencies.
