I don't do black Friday...that is amateur day.😀
:nono1: You won't think it's amateurish when I break out the pointer and poke you you know where if you got out line...:floor: Besides, you'll say anything to get me to come out to SoWal for T-giving.

Is it working?😀

I have to say I agree with that one. I've gotten so that I hate shopping by myself--it's much more funn when you have someone along. Plus, you make a lot less shopping mistakes if you have an honest critique-er with you!
how funny mermy - I am the opposite kind of shopper. If I am doing some real shopping on a mission, I must be completely alone. Other people, even close friends, just get in the way. Except for mommie-dearest, who is like I am - she and i can shop together but separately...

No not yet. :floor: But if Mermaid or you replicates her T-giving story, that might be worth coming out for. That reminds me of my favorite movie, "Christmas Vacation" 😀 where they cut the bird open and steam comes out. :funn:

Oh, I'm that way, too. I was talking about when I go shopping for myself, like to buy clothes or shoes. I always need at least someone to tell me if it looks good or if I'm crazy.

OMG - no black Friday shopping for me! I have personal space issues and I do Christmas shopping at "off" hours or I do it online. I simply cannot handle the crowds. But more power to you if it's your thing.
I don't mind the holiday hype at all, in fact, I've already been listening to the radio station that plays Xmas music 24/7 (was kind of surprised that they started right after Halloween!)
I'm waiting for the Christmas music to start here. I listen to and love it for weeks! Drives my family insane. I kinda thought one of our stations would start after Halloween, but no one has yet..:(
Same here!
We spend the day Christmas decorating, watching old movies, etc.
Us too. This is traditionally the day when I get mr. dd to drag all the Chrismas decorations downstairs and I start. Funny, everyone else seems to disappear about this time....hmmm...
Nope can't stand the crowds unless there's music and drinking. I will have my son home and I think we are getting our Christmas stuff out to begin decorating. He's large and very helpful with heavy things 😀
Cheering, I'll give you music and drinks if you'll send your son to do my "exterior illumination". 😀 mr. dd refuses. :pissed:

They have here! I even heard "What are you doing New Years Eve" today! Tomorrow they'll probably be playing, "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" ! :bang:
I think I'm the Grinch.

dd...I think 103.7 becomes an all Christmas music station, but not sure when.

They're usually the ones. I keep checking, but nothing yet.:( Of course, I DO have a few CD's. Made mr. dd listen to one on the way home from SoWal. He was not amused. :idontno:

Next time we are in SoWal together, we'll play Xmas music and hang stockings on my fireplace. Of course they will be ironed first. :floor:
Celine Dions' "Ave Maria" is one of my favorite and Carol of the Bells by Savatage.

Paula, we have pee in or pants funn. :floor: If it was stressful, we wouldn't do it. The funn starts at night while we are having our coffee and the pointer gets broken out and map. It's not about the savings, just being together with close friends and family. I'll never forget last year when my sister bought 4 of those dish settings, (I didn't know she was egtting that many) and the back of my car was sinking down a bit. Then the picture of her directing the store clerk where the car was and them stacked on a dolly was priceless, not to mention that my car was busting at the seams by the time we were done.
Your family tradition sounds nice too. That's what it's all about.
I agree -- it's at least 75% about the tradition and 25% shopping therapy. My kids can't wait to get invited to the discount mall to join my sister and me on our twice-annual outings to the discount mall. They'll be invited in a few years. Once they're invited, we'll be able to say that we've had this tradition through 3 generations of our family -- sigh, and perhaps it will be 4 generations someday.

It's like a holiday for me, my sister and several friends.
First we post all the ads on a bulletin Board. We have a meeting on Thanksgiving Eve. Attendance is mandatory.
Using a pointer, and a map, we write down all the items that are of the highest priority and how many we want. The list is divided up by all participants.
The rendevous is at 4:30 am.
All cadets must bring an eye opener from the list usually hot cocoa, coffee, bagels, or muffins.
The cadets with the largest cars are drivers.
"Its the most wondeful time of the Year" is the official theme song for our trek.
Antlers are our helmets.
Rules are run into store, no deviation from said path to assigned items and meet back into the parking lot or on line. Any deviants must do 20 push ups.
Finished by 9:30 am and gather at my sisters house where my BIL makes us grayt pancakes.
Nap by 11:00 am.
:funn:
So, Mango, what's the game plan? Are you set? There's less than 48 hours to go!

I swore after 7 years in retail that I would never go shopping on Black Friday and now, of course, I want to go. Instead, I'll be visiting my hippie mother-in-law who wants to have a day after Thanksgiving "international" meal. This means I make the chicken enchiladas and she makes egg rolls, spaghetti, and whatever else she comes up with. Oh geez..

Mermy, we have downloaded the store ad scans from BFADS.com and the meeting is tomorrow night. There have been a few conference calls in the meantime. :funn: I still have to go up in the attic and get the pointer, maps, and break out the Santa hat and reindeer headgear.
