We've talked about this and I don't think anyone is organizing it so ....I'm going to get us started! I think the ornaments should be mainly handmade but if you saw something at a store that reminded you of that person you could pick that up too. We could all wait and open our packages together one night in December, an ornament postathon if you will. Or some other funn plan...I'm open to any and all suggestions. Participation is not an option*!!!!! Grinches, bah humbuggers, you know who you are;-) ....this will put you in the C'mas spirit. I have created a new email just for this purpose. Please email OLbunnyfunn@aol.com with your sowal name and your real name and address.* I will draw names and send you your person!

*Lurkers need not apply! (not to be rude--we wouldn't know anything about you) 500 posts+ or you are new and chatty.( Beach Jacket comes to mind plus we already kind of know her)

It is! It is! Some of the most wonderful ornaments on my tree were handmade. I have a friend who threw out all her handmade ornaments to have a "perfect" tree. When her daughter told the story, her face said a thousand words. If only the mom knew how hurtful it was. I really do not care about perfect, just FUNN and meaningful!

I wholeheartedly agree. Something handmade always means so much more to me than something store-bought. Something handmade suggests that the person spent time and effort into creating something specifically for you. Even if does end up having a few impoerfections, it is always the one gift that means the most, since you knew that person was thinking of you.

Miss Kitty is off shooting kittens from cannons and trying to get a good shot of the elusive Superman.
Hmmm, me thinks she's avoiding ornament making.

I am just having no luck making this ornament. Every time I start on it, I do not like what I have done and undo it all. This is driving me crazy. These things are too small to do anything with for one thing. :bang:

I wished I could. I let things bother me too much. This is why my stomach is always a mess. "Just relax your crack and let it flow?" I have taken a break from it for the night. I have someone at work that is a ornament making expert. She is going to take a look at what I have and give me a few ideas and give me a few of her ornament making supplies she uses in making her ornaments after she sees what I am trying to do. :D

You are worrying WAY too much. As I was unpacking ornaments tonight, the ones that mean the most are the ones that had some  in them, not the "perfect" ones. When I was teaching, the most precious things the kids made where the ones with little (or big) "quirks" about them, that is what made them memorable and special. Whoever my person is, I just think its really grayt that they are taking the time and effort to do this, what it looks like really does not matter, I could go to the store if "store bought" was what I wanted.

Maybe we should make hornyments, that is what Tyler used to call them when he was little. I can still hear his little voice saying, "Mommy are we ready to put the hornyments on the tree."
