Pace Peregrine sailboat from the 1960’s. Exact year not marked, but research shows late 50’s or early 60’s. Just under 16’. Has everything needed to sail (sails (main and jib), rudder, life preservers, etc). Sails are in great shape, lines and rigging are good, trailer has new rims and tires. Fiberglass is in good shape, no known soft spots.
Problem, the flip down centerboard needs work. The swing mechanism plate bolts have aged and broke (they were brass originally). Makes it so the centerboard isn’t sealed allowing water into the hull. Needs to be put on stands and rebuilt with some fiberglassing probably. May be a DIY project depending on your skill. Does include the original brass plate that presses this tight. Photo attached.
Boat sails beautifully, even full of water (haha). Boats in florida under 16 feet don’t require registration if they don’t have a motor. You could mount a motor. Perfect size for the bay, we regularly sailed it on Lake Powell in PCB.
Here’s the spec sheet: PEREGRINE 16 (PACESHIP) sailboat specifications and details on sailboatdata.com
I refer to it as “the boat” referencing the teenage coming of age comedy “One Crazy Summer” starring John Cusack. Although, it hasn’t been named officially. I also refer to the boat as an “it”, I really respect it’s privacy.
I’m selling because I want a catamaran to sail in the Gulf. Would maybe consider some sort of trade. Priced based on the repair that needs to happen. Lots of photos below. Txt (850) 366-8054 or email bbuckeye282828@gmail.com with questions or if you’d like to see it. The boat is in Santa Rosa Beach (30a).
