So, about 2 months ago I ran into Chris Vaughn (you veteran SoWallers will remember Chris), an he told me about buying a food truck and selling his amazing BBQ. I was hoping that Chris and the truck would be ready for action for a function at school, but the timing didn't work out.
Dangit, I had heard great things about Chris' barbecue skills, and I was looking forward to that food truck opening!
The happy end to my story- I pulled into Cypress Cattle Company today (on 331 just south of Freeport), and lo and behold- the 3 Sons Bar-B-Q truck was on the slab, wonderful BBQ smells wafting across the parking lot. I grabbed some yummy fresh corn and tomatoes from Cypress, then made a mad dash to the food truck window. Our first "summer dinner" was the St. Louis style ribs, and they were absolutely perfect, in fact, the best I have had in a very very long time. His seasoning is wonderful, and they were perfectly cooked, "low and slow" as he advertises. Pulled pork, brisket, and chicken are available, as well as beans, slaw, an potato salad. He proudly told me that everything is "trailer made".
Info on 3 Sons Bar-B-Q can be found here https://www.facebook.com/3SonsBarBQ, and you can call him at 850-259-8466 (he suggested this number over the Google phone number option).
BTW- the white corn and tomatoes from Cypress Cattle are tastin' like summer!!
