So, about 2 months ago I ran into Chris Vaughn (you veteran SoWallers will remember Chris), an he told me about buying a food truck and selling his amazing BBQ. I was hoping that Chris and the truck would be ready for action for a function at school, but the timing didn't work out. :sosad: Dangit, I had heard great things about Chris' barbecue skills, and I was looking forward to that food truck opening!

The happy end to my story- I pulled into Cypress Cattle Company today (on 331 just south of Freeport), and lo and behold- the 3 Sons Bar-B-Q truck was on the slab, wonderful BBQ smells wafting across the parking lot. I grabbed some yummy fresh corn and tomatoes from Cypress, then made a mad dash to the food truck window. Our first "summer dinner" was the St. Louis style ribs, and they were absolutely perfect, in fact, the best I have had in a very very long time. His seasoning is wonderful, and they were perfectly cooked, "low and slow" as he advertises. Pulled pork, brisket, and chicken are available, as well as beans, slaw, an potato salad. He proudly told me that everything is "trailer made".

Info on 3 Sons Bar-B-Q can be found here https://www.facebook.com/3SonsBarBQ, and you can call him at 850-259-8466 (he suggested this number over the Google phone number option).

BTW- the white corn and tomatoes from Cypress Cattle are tastin' like summer!!

If y'all haven't tried this bbq, you are definitely missing out. It's a short ride up 331 to get the good stuff. Call ahead and Chris will have it ready to go! 259-8466!

Just saw that they are closed today- regular hours are back on Tuesday! And now he's making Brunswick Stew!

Haven't made it up 331 to try the Bbq, but have heard amazing reviews! Expansion and entertainment plans already in the works.

Almost to Freeport, on west side of 331, next to Cypress Cattle. His meats are the bomb, not oversmoked, and that Sweet Georiga Brown sauce is amazing. There is definitely a 3 Sons dinner in my future this week!

Hubby was tied up at work last week, so we couldn't drive to the beach until July 4. We didn't have the time or energy to shop for food on arrival, cook it, and then wash dishes. We were afraid that we'd be too tired for a long wait at a restaurant (not to mention deal with parking). I looked back at posts about barbecue. We took Jdarg's suggestion. Picked up BBQ at 3-Sons in Freeport (not out of the way), bought fresh corn, tomatoes, and watermelon at Cypress Cattle and Produce, and had a great dinner at our beach home. We bought enough BBQ for three meals. The pork was the best. It was nice to eat at home and not fight the crowds and traffic. Thanks for the rec, Jdarg!

Best BBQ on the Panhandle. I am picky too- don't like to keep "tasting" the seasoning or smoke for hours after eating. Chris and 3 Sons made me fall in love with BBQ again. The added bonus- Chris and his wife Robin are great peeps.

Anyone know best day to go ? Sure they don't smoke fresh daily there never seems to be much traffic. Not a fan of leftovers.
