Hi All - we have started a nonprofit organization called 30A Cats trying to help with the feral/stray cats and kitten situation on 30A. Trapping, neutering and releasing (TNR) has proven effective in helping control feral cat populations. Since April we've TNR'd over 700 cats/kittens on 30A and along 98. We hosted a free vaccine clinic for cats & dogs in October where over 120 animals were given vaccines. So far we've spent almost $110,000. We're able to find homes for some of the kittens but have many colonies of cats in neighborhoods. One un-spayed female and her offspring can produce almost 5,000 cats in 7 years. While we know that 30A Cats earn their keep by keeping the rodent population down, we realize the it can negatively affect birds and endangered mice. We have amazing volunteers but are in serious need of more volunteers, fosters, adopters and donations to help support these animals. We are really trying to make a difference in helping these animals and keep the population down. It would be great to get the larger community involved with helping in any way and would be forever grateful. Our website is Home | 30A cats. Facebook is 30A Cats. We have our 501(c)3 and EVERY dollar donated goes straight to help spay/neuter, vet care, food and vaccinations.
