98E Grand Blvd past outlet mall = parking lot 2PM 4/8

If you don't have to head toward Destin this afternoon (Thursday 4/8) DON'T! I've never seen so many people at the outlet mall, and I'm including Black Friday and a rainy July 4th. Every space is taken and cars snake through lanes either looking for a spot or just trying to escape. Traffic on 98 headed toward the mall is a virtual parking lot, too. Be warned!!

I just got back from taking my friend to the FWB hospital for chemo followup treatment; it took us three hours to get from the east side of the Destin bridge to the intersection of Highway 98 and 30A by Topsail--bumper to bumper all the way and I saw three accidents (not major) and many almost accidents from idiots who were speeding and passing on the right....

Be careful everyone--it is unbelievable!

I had to drive through that mess yesterday. I think one hint would be for folks to know where they are going. Also you're on vacation and it's not an emergency for you to cross 4 lanes of traffic from the turn lane to Scenic Gulf Drive to the outlet mall.
