A friend wants to build a studio apartment below their house and rent it out to vacationers for extra cash. What are the rules for this sort of thing?

We know a ton of people do this, but can't find any rules or requirements on the county website, just an affadavit for an accessory apartment which seems to suggest that it isn't legal.

Just check with planning - should be fine as long as it is allowed on your lot (no restrictions in covenants and zoning allows) and bed tax is paid.
