Grab a pumpkin or two at Alaqua's very own pumpkin patch during the entire month of October. Pumpkins are available for purchase Tuesday - Sunday during regular operational hours from 11AM - 4PM. Working in partnership with the Ohana Institute, all pumpkin sales go directly to feed the hundreds of animals currently in care.
Each Sunday in the patch features a special event for the entire family.

Go bonkers at the Alaqua Animal Refuge Baryard Bonanza! The fun begins at 11AM on Sunday, October 8th. Explore the new Barnyard Friends facility to meet and greet some adorable livestock. Climb aboard the hay wagons, pick your perfect pumpkin to make your own jack-o-lantern and capture memories at their many photo areas. Dance your heart out with DJs from the Ohana School and even get the chance to meet and adopt your next family member.

October 15th: Fall in Love Adoption Event
Alaqua Animal Refuge will host Fall In Love Adoption Event on Sunday, October 15th. With 50% off adoption fees there has never been a better time to welcome a new love into your life. Beginning at 11AM, there is plenty to do to keep the whole family smiling. Take an hayride adventure, capture the memories with multiple photo opportunities, pick a pumpkin to take home and carve, and enjoy some tunes with a rockin’ DJ!
October 22nd: Alaqua's Tails of Halloween
Alaqua Animal Refuge and Hammock Bay partner to host Alaqua's Tails of Halloween, a family-fun event on Sunday, October 22nd. Beginning at 11AM at Alaqua in Freeport, FL, come dressed to impressed in your silliest and spookiest costumes to enjoy trunk or treat and bring the fun home with you by selecting a pumpkin from the patch. Meet the animals, view the classic cars & jeeps, enjoy a wagon ride, DJ spinning live and more!
Adult tickets $10, Kids 3-12 are $5, and kiddos 2 and under are FREE.
If you want to bring something home that will last a bit longer than a pumpkin, be sure to have a meet and greet with the adoptable animals: dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats and so much more!

October 29th: Furry Tails
Kids take over Alaqua on Sunday, October 29th at the Furry Tails event! Beginning at 11AM, enjoy face painting, a rock painting/coloring table, and dog behavioral training presentations. In addition, the Book Mobile is coming to read stories that will amaze and delight you. To top it off, they'll have S’MORES, barnyard friends to visit and adoptable animals to fall in love with!
