Alligator Lake

We are staying at gulf trace. Can you fish in Alligator Lake? It looks like a lot of of grasses around the edge. Is it safe to play in the outflow like you see people at other lakes. I know in Florida gators live in the wild. But it is called alligator lake. Should we expect a whole family of gators?

lol i have a home near there and we probably spent 70 days right at the mouth of alligator dune this past summer and i never saw anything. yes there are yellow "beware of alligator" signs there but i never saw anything.any were theres fresh water in fla there could be alligators

I have seen gators in there years ago. Right now if there are any they are all hibernating. Definitely safe in the outflow.

Anybody know if you can catch anything in the lake. Mainly we would like to take our little girl.

I was told it was so named because of it's shape. I don't see the resemblance.

Yes...you can fish in Alligator Lake. There are many fish there, especially Red Fish. Good luck.

I live on Alligator Lake, in the white spanish-style house, and yes, there are a few alligators. We had one taken out about a year ago and it was about 7-feet long. We haven't seen them recently, but they're there!!

We knew to keep ou eye out. Just did not know if it was considered unsafe to approach the lake due to gators?
